Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked down Hàng Hòm street looking for the Babylon Premium – it’s tucked between some pretty traditional shophouses in the Old Quarter, and the entrance is sort of understated. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it special. While tourists are fighting for space at those massive hotels near the lake, you’re slipping into this quiet sanctuary that feels like a well-kept secret.

The thing about staying right in Hoan Kiem is that you’re literally in the heart of everything, but most places are either cramped guesthouses or sterile business hotels. The Babylon actually nails that sweet spot – it’s got the space and amenities you want (that spa is no joke, by the way) without feeling disconnected from the neighborhood. I mean, you can grab bánh mì from the vendor right outside at 6 AM, then come back and get a proper massage after walking your legs off exploring the French Quarter. The staff genuinely knows the area too – not just the tourist stuff, but they’ll point you toward the good phở place that locals actually use, or tell you which streets to avoid during the evening rush when the motorbikes get absolutely insane.

What really sold me was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The rooms are quiet despite being on a busy street (good windows, I guess), the WiFi works everywhere including the lobby, and they’ve got this thing figured out where check-in is smooth even when you show up looking like a disaster after a long flight. The 9.1 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Hanoi, but everything just… works. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the elevators are fast and reliable, which you don’t realize you care about until you’re staying somewhere with sketchy lifts. If you’re planning to explore beyond the Old Quarter, you’re a quick walk to decent taxi pickup spots, and the weekend night market is close enough that you can easily pop back to drop off purchases. Just don’t expect a pool – this isn’t that kind of place, but honestly, with Hoan Kiem Lake a five-minute walk away and the city’s energy right outside your door, you probably won’t miss it.

  Amazing stay. Allowed us to shower when we had a flight in the evening even though we checked out. Was an incredible stay very comfortable and the staff were incredible. Would recommend to anyone! Location was really good too!

  This was our second visit to this hotel which was a 3 days later than a previous visit, The hotel delivered exactly the same standard as our previous visit which I gave a rating of 10/10. The hotel is in the Old Quarter of Hanoi so the location is fantastic while the streets are busy outside, the room we had was extremely quiet. The breakfast had lots of options to choose from and the area for breakfast was very comfortable. All Staff in all areas were very polite & professional, so I have given another 10/10 and would definitely stay here again.

  Everything, location we are in our 70,s and had no problem walking to the Train station, night markets and Hoa Lo prison (HANOI HILTON) as the Americans named it, however thought it was not traffic enough to hit home, Nhon Pham jail in Cambodia much more traffic and hits home on how evil mankind is.

  Every think was perfect , good breakfast, the staff are excellent, very professional and polite. The hotel is in a great position with the hustle & bustle outside, but the room that we had was peaceful and quite.I would definitely stay here again.
