Casa Dos Príncipes Hotel & Spa Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Casa Dos Príncipes? The name sounds all fancy and intimidating, but honestly, it’s got this welcoming, almost intimate vibe that you don’t expect from a 4-star place. I mean, with a 9.2 rating, I figured it’d be good, but there’s something about walking into the lobby that just feels… right. Maybe it’s because they’ve managed to blend that French colonial architecture you see all over the Old Quarter with genuinely comfortable modern touches – not the sterile kind of modern, but the kind where you actually want to kick off your shoes.
The location on Đào Duy Từ is pretty brilliant, actually. Most people rush straight to the weekend night market chaos or camp out right next to Hoan Kiem Lake, but this little street? It’s close enough that you can walk to everything – and I mean everything, from Ngoc Son Temple to those incredible bánh mì spots near the cathedral – but far enough from the motorbike symphony that you can actually sleep with your windows cracked open. The spa part isn’t just a fancy add-on either; after spending days navigating Hanoi’s beautiful madness (the traffic here is like a dance you have to learn), those massage rooms become your sanctuary. The therapists know their stuff, and the prices are what you’d hope for in Vietnam, not what you’d fear from a hotel spa.
What really sold me, though, were the small things that show someone’s actually paying attention. The staff remembers your coffee preference after day two, there’s always someone who can give you the real scoop on which phở place is worth the inevitable wait, and – this might sound silly – but the towels actually smell like they’ve been properly dried, not just cycled through industrial washers. The rooms themselves are well, comfortable without trying too hard. Good water pressure, air conditioning that works without sounding like a helicopter, and windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that is). Sure, if you’re expecting a rooftop infinity pool or a lobby that doubles as an art installation, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you want a place that feels like a really good local secret – the kind where you sleep well, eat well, and leave feeling like you actually experienced Hanoi instead of just Instagram-ing it – Casa Dos Príncipes gets it right.

Great location in a quieter street of Old quarter. Close proximity to all the sights and helpful things like laundries, massages and plenty of restaurants. Great breakfast with all the trimmings and incredibly helpful and kind staff.
Caoilainn from United Kingdom – 22 May 2025 (10/10)
Staff at the front desk were so helpful and welcoming. The location is fabulous for pottering about Hanoi.
Hannah from Australia – 21 May 2025 (10/10)
The staff were incredibly attentive and had excellent recommendations for food and attractions. The manager Mr Dinh Lee personally helped select and book a fantastic day trip to a national park, which was a real highlight of our stay in Hanoi. The amenities at the hotel were also fabulous – I really appreciated how easy it was to do laundry, and the little touches like prepacked breakfasts on days with early starts!
Assa from Iraq – 16 May 2025 (9/10)
Every single member of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms were very nice and the location was great.
What could be improved: The breakfast could have had more options but I was told that they plan to improve it in the near future.Noelle from India – 13 May 2025 (10/10)
It was a quaint little boutique hôtel tucked in the busy street of Haon Kiem. Everything around the property was at walking distance and super convenient. The hôtel staff were extremely kind and helpful – providing us with a smooth early check-in. Henry at the front desk helped us with some recommandations for places to try and check out. All in all though we stayed for just one night – they even helped us arrange transport for our cruise and the opportunity to keep our bags while we waited to board our next flight. Manager Dinh Lee was extremely kind and helpful and was always available for any help or information
What could be improved: Nothing since everything was greatJoe from Taiwan – 12 May 2025 (10/10)
The location is unbeatable. Right next to the beer street but remains quiet at night. The door does not block much sound(a wide gap at the bottom of the door) but there are only two other rooms on the same floor so it was overall peaceful and quiet at night time.
Complimentary breakfast remained the same for all four days we were there. It was simple but filled your stomach. I’d recommend getting pho for breakfast though.
The highlight would have to be the helpful staff. From check-in, we felt welcomed and valued as guests to the hotel. We were offered, free of charge, early check-in and late check-out which we did not initiate. The manager Lee gave us tips on where to dine and sightsee. He seems like a genuine, professional worker who does his best to accommodate guests’ needs.
What could be improved: AC in the room blows directly at one of the twin beds. I can see how that can affect sleep for some.Tam from United Kingdom – 10 May 2025 (10/10)
It was nice, clean and modern. Staff were amazing and super helpful. Location was great too! I had to spend big portions of my day in the hotel and it was an atmosphere where I was happy to stay.
