But actually, that’s exactly what makes Davidduc’s place so perfect if you want to experience Hanoi like someone who actually lives here, not just another tourist hitting the same tired spots.

The apartment itself is genuinely spacious, which – let me tell you – is not something you can say about most places in this city. I mean, you can actually open a suitcase without having to move furniture around, and there’s real counter space in the kitchen where you can spread out if you’re the type who likes to grab ingredients from the morning market and cook something. The whole setup feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room, you know? There are those little touches that matter – decent water pressure (trust me on this one), proper blackout curtains for when the motorbike symphony starts at 5 AM, and honestly some of the most comfortable bedding I’ve encountered in Vietnam. The location in Tay Ho puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the lake when you want that postcard scenery, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not dealing with constant noise and inflated prices.

What really sold me on this place was how Davidduc actually knows the neighborhood – when I mentioned I was looking for good pho that wasn’t a tourist trap, he pointed me toward this tiny place about three blocks away where I was literally the only foreigner and paid half what I would’ve near the Old Quarter. The whole Xom Chua area has this authentic residential vibe where you’ll see families on their stoops in the evening and kids playing in the narrow streets, but you’re still only a quick motorbike ride from anywhere you want to be. I stayed here during the shoulder season in March and it was perfectly quiet at night, though I imagine it might get a bit livelier during peak tourist months. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the building entrance is pretty understated – I walked past it twice on my first day – but once you’re inside, everything feels well-maintained and thoughtfully arranged. For the price point and the genuine local experience you get, this beats staying in some generic hotel in the tourist quarter every time.

  What could be improved: TV wasn’t working as it is very old and WiFi is very slow and unstable. The whole apartment wasn’t cleaned up properly and the kitchen was lacking a lot of stuff

  地理位置很好，接近西湖河畔，可以欣賞夕陽與夜
  景，晚上在河畔散步很棒。
  再者，可以第一時間聯絡到房東辦理入住，效率極佳。
  
  What could be improved: 因為booking設備上有吹風機品項，但是大半夜找不到吹風機真是糟糕，又不好意思打擾房東。
