Hanoi Brilliant Hotel & Spa Overview

You know what struck me first about Hanoi Brilliant Hotel & Spa? The location is honestly perfect – you’re right on Hang Trong Street, which means you can literally walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about three minutes. I mean, when I say walkable, I’m talking about stepping out the front door and being in the thick of the Old Quarter without dealing with the chaos of staying directly on the main tourist drags like Hang Bac or Ta Hien.

The hotel itself feels like they actually thought about what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos. The spa part isn’t just a fancy name – they’ve got this surprisingly good massage setup on one of the upper floors, and honestly, after walking around Hanoi’s uneven sidewalks all day, you’ll appreciate it. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, nothing groundbreaking but genuinely comfortable. Air conditioning that actually works (crucial during those sticky summer months), decent water pressure, and – this matters more than you’d think – windows that block out most of the street noise. Though let’s be real, you’re in central Hanoi, so there’s always going to be some motorbike sounds, especially in the early morning when the vendors are setting up.

What I really liked was how the staff seemed to know the neighborhood inside and out. When I asked about getting to the weekend night market, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward the obvious tourist spots – he mentioned this little alley behind Dong Xuan Market where you can find better bánh mì for half the price. That’s the kind of local insight you don’t get at the big international chains. The breakfast spread is pretty decent too, mix of Vietnamese and Western options, though honestly the phở they serve in the morning beats most of what you’ll find at the tourist restaurants around the lake. Check-in was smooth, no issues with holding luggage before or after official times, and they helped arrange a taxi to the airport that didn’t try to overcharge – small things that make a difference when you’re dealing with travel fatigue. The 8.1 rating feels about right; it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, and in a city as hectic as Hanoi, that reliability is actually pretty valuable.

Reviews of Hanoi Brilliant Hotel & Spa

  • Travers from United Kingdom – 24 April 2025 (9/10)

Great location with everything on the doorstep, and the staff couldn't do enough to ensure everything for our trip ran smoothly.

  • Neil from Canada – 23 December 2024 (9/10)

    Great breakfast!

What could be improved: Staff worked hard to make sure all was great. Mia restaurant around the corner very good!

  • Christine from Australia – 1 October 2024 (9/10)

The staff were fabulous! Always smiling and very helpful with local advice

  • Lorraine from Australia – 7 August 2024 (7/10)

    Good location and central.

What could be improved: To be sold a SIM card and advised it was for a month for it only to be a weeks worth of data. Expensive purchase for a 3 day stay. Nothing worse than being scammed by your hotel.

  • Adelio from Portugal – 8 May 2024 (7/10)

The hotel offers a good location. In the old town but still in a quite area.

What could be improved: Our room was a room with windows to the corridor and for similar price probably it is possible to find a better option. Also we tried to book a tour with the hotel staff, that assure us that will take care of it but they never did it… We end up to book the tour by ourselves but we had to do it in a rush…

  • Mmmzón from Spain – 12 February 2024 (8/10)

The staff is amazing, on reception you can expect kindness and warm all the time.
Eira even gifted us Vietnamese snacks before going to the airport on a super late night when all was closed and our opportunities to have dinner were 0. Every night they put chocolate coins and good wishes for the day. Really, what an amazing staff. Congrats, it is the gem of the hotel.

  • Agustina from Indonesia – 8 January 2024 (9/10)

    spa is excellent.

  • Ife360 from China – 26 December 2023 (9/10)

My friend and I got the Executive Twin room which was much bigger than expected! There was a lovely chair and table to sit and journal in the morning. We also had a window that opened to the street view but it was not a problem, we are in the Old Quarter which is bustling with activity, so we expected it to be noisy.

The location was perfect! Henry at front desk told us about some great areas to go see and then the Trainee Eira was amazing! She was so friendly, helpful and such a joy to have conversations with! She even spoke to us in Chinese when she realized that we live in China!

Breakfast was extremely filling. There was a big spread and many options of fruits to choose from and there was an a la carte menu to make more selections if desired. Really no complaints about the breakfast!

What could be improved: Nothing much, the carpet in the hallway could do with a shampoo to spruce up the place, perhaps the only thing that I would complain about, but everything was lovely.

  • Mei from Hong Kong – 14 November 2023 (8/10)

The location is really good. There are supermarket, 24/7 stores, cafe, pizza, local restaurant, clothes, souvenir store, Hoan Kiem lake .. etc all nearby. Their staffs are friendly and helpful. I hadn’t prepare for anything about Hanoi before arrival. While check in at their hotel, their staff have a list of things to do, places to go and a map for me, with some orientation as well. Each night while I came back to my room, there must be a little pouch hanging on the door knob. Inside the pouch was some chocolate and a note. The message on the note was heart warming stuff.

What could be improved: Its all good and the price is right.

  • Jennifer from Australia – 8 October 2023 (9/10)

Nice big room with opening windows. Comfortable large bed. Wooden floors. Nice breakfast daily.

What could be improved: The fridge wasn’t cold and made a loud noise. Has to disconnect it
