You know what caught me off guard about Harmony – Eldorado Hồ Tây? I was expecting another generic business hotel, but this place actually has some character to it. It sits right on Nguyễn Hoàng Tôn street – and if you know Tay Ho at all, you’ll appreciate that it’s close enough to the lake action but far enough back that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds of Vietnamese families having their lakeside picnics.

The lobby honestly feels more like a boutique spot than your typical 4-star chain. There’s this sort of understated elegance thing going on – think dark wood, warm lighting, none of that harsh marble-and-chrome aesthetic that makes you feel like you’re checking into a bank. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which is rarer than it should be. I mean, the 8.3 rating makes sense once you’re there for a bit. The rooms are solid without being flashy – good blackout curtains (crucial if you’re jet-lagged), decent shower pressure, and the AC doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing on your roof. The beds are firm, which I personally love, though if you’re into that cloud-soft mattress situation, just know what you’re getting into.

What really works about this place is the location – you can walk to West Lake in about five minutes, but you’re also weirdly close to some of the better local spots that tourists usually miss. There’s this little bún chả place two blocks down that absolutely destroys the touristy versions you’ll find in the Old Quarter, and honestly, being able to stumble back to your hotel after a proper Vietnamese coffee (or three) is underrated. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, which is perfect if you’re trying to recover from Ho Chi Minh City’s chaos or gearing up for it. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re renting a motorbike – the hotel has spots but they fill up during busy season, so you might end up doing the Vietnamese parking dance on the street. Check-in was smooth, no drama, though they do hold your passport overnight which always makes me slightly nervous even though it’s totally standard here. The breakfast spread is decent – nothing that’ll change your life, but the phở is legit and the coffee is strong enough to wake the dead. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to explore the Tay Ho expat scene without paying those ridiculous rates closer to the lake. It’s just a solid, comfortable base that doesn’t try too hard to impress you but somehow does anyway.

  What could be improved: durant mon séjour de 5 nuits j'ai tout de même trouver 2 cafards et 1 lézard se baladant dans l'appartement. Certaines parties de placard avaient des toiles d'araignées, si le prix est élevé il faut que la prestation soit à la hauteur.

  Bastante desorden con la ropa de cama. Da impresión de dejadez.
  Se echa de menos un texto con instrucciones. Tienes que hacer demasiadas consultas.
  Hay que ir a otro edificio para ir al gym o la piscina.

  Really love the scenery here.
  There is so much I can say about this trip.
  
  1. Great scenery. After walking and sightseeing here, I really fell into the sunset
  2. The window is big enough to see the whole view of the City from above
  3. I have my own washing machine to wash clothes
  4. Enough drinking water. Very good personal items
  5. Security building, absolute safety

  Pasé 2 noches en Bien's Apartment y eso fue INCREÍBLE. No muy lejos del casco antiguo, pero me encanta esta ubicación porque está cerca del Lago del Oeste y es muy tranquilo. Me encanta el estilo y todos los muebles modernos están limpios. Muy recomendable para este amable anfitrión.
