LIVIE Hanoi Ham Long Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to LIVIE Hanoi Ham Long, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in the maze of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. This four-star boutique property sits right on Ham Long Street, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — I mean, you’re literally in the heart of everything that makes Hanoi captivating. The building itself has this modern elegance that somehow doesn’t clash with the historic neighborhood around it, which is actually pretty impressive given how particular this area can be about fitting in.

The Perfect Base

What really struck me about this place is how it manages to put you right in the action while still offering a peaceful retreat. You’re a five-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake — you know, that gorgeous spot where locals do their morning tai chi and evening strolls. The French Quarter’s colonial architecture is practically at your doorstep, and those incredible street food stalls that everyone raves about? They’re everywhere around here. I actually found myself just wandering the nearby alleys between meetings, discovering little coffee shops and silk vendors that most tourists never stumble upon.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed with clean lines and warm wood accents that felt distinctly Vietnamese without being kitschy. The beds are genuinely comfortable — something you can’t always count on in boutique hotels — and the bathrooms are spacious with excellent water pressure (trust me, after a day exploring Hanoi’s humid streets, this matters). What I loved most was the attention to soundproofing; despite being on a busy street, I slept remarkably well. The air conditioning works efficiently too, which is crucial during Hanoi’s sweltering summer months.

Practical Perks

Here’s something that’ll save you headaches — they actually have private parking available, which is almost unheard of in this part of the city. If you’re planning to rent a motorbike or have a driver, this is genuinely valuable. The staff speaks excellent English and seems to know every corner of the neighborhood; they gave me restaurant recommendations that turned out to be absolute gems. The hotel’s restaurant serves a solid breakfast spread with both Western and Vietnamese options, though honestly, with all the incredible pho and banh mi spots within walking distance, you might find yourself eating out most of the time.

Why Guests Love It

There’s a reason couples rate this location so highly — it’s romantic without trying too hard, and there’s something magical about stepping out your door into centuries-old streets filled with the aroma of street food and the gentle chaos of Hanoi life. The property strikes that sweet spot between modern comfort and authentic local experience that’s surprisingly hard to find. You’re close enough to walk to major attractions like the Temple of Literature or the bustling Dong Xuan Market, but far enough from the tourist crowds to feel like you’re experiencing the real Hanoi. After staying here, I actually understood why so many travelers end up extending their Hanoi visits — when you’re this well-positioned, leaving feels premature.

Early hotels booking in Hanoi secures VIP water puppet seats, countryside scooter tours, and pottery workshops in Bat Trang.

Nice spacious room and a big TV it was really comfortable
    Good location

What could be improved: The room we stayed in did not have a window, it wasn’t a huge issue for us but would’ve preferred to know about it before we checked in.
The room is also above a speaker that was really loud from 6am for an hour with advertisements one of the days we stayed

    It was sparkling clean.
It has a terrace space great to work if you travel and work.
Just a short walk to main areas in the center.

What could be improved: I would recomend to add fee more amenities in the kitchen, only 2 glasses seems a bit short 🙂
The building entrance could have some maintenance and cleaning.

Big and cozy, very nice decoration. Stove heats up pots very fast. Staff were very friendly, polite, and helpful. It was very clean. The big TV is awesome!
