Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and honestly? Most of them feel like they’re trying too hard to be something they’re not. But the Mina Hotel and Spa on Hang Buom Street – well, this one actually gets it right. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone here understands what travelers actually want, not just what they think sounds impressive on paper.

The location is pretty much perfect if you know Hanoi at all. Hang Buom runs right through the heart of the Old Quarter, which means you’re literally a two-minute walk from those incredible street food stalls on Hang Manh (seriously, try the bun cha there) and maybe five minutes from Hoan Kiem Lake if you need to escape the beautiful chaos for a bit. But here’s the thing – and this surprised me – despite being right in the thick of everything, the rooms are actually quiet. I mean, you’ll still hear the occasional motorbike symphony that is Hanoi at night, but it’s not the constant din you get at some places closer to the main drag. The spa part isn’t just a fancy name either; they’ve got this small but really thoughtful wellness area that feels like a genuine retreat after spending the day dodging scooters and haggling in the markets.

What really sold me on this place, though, was the staff’s approach to hospitality. You know how some hotels either ignore you completely or hover annoyingly? The folks at Mina strike this perfect balance – they’re there when you need them (like when I couldn’t figure out how to get to the airport at 5 AM) but they’re not constantly asking if everything’s okay when you’re clearly just trying to enjoy your morning coffee. The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy – good lighting for actually reading, outlets where you need them, and bathrooms that feel clean without being sterile. I stayed there during the crazy busy season in October, and while the Old Quarter was absolutely packed with tourists, checking in was smooth and the common areas never felt crowded. If you’re the type who likes to be right in the middle of the action but still wants a proper place to recharge, this is your spot. Just don’t expect a pool or anything like that – you’re in the Old Quarter, after all, where space is precious and the real attractions are outside your door anyway.

  Very professional staff, easy to reach and to exchange with. The room was great with nice view and a lot of space (family suite with window) + very quiet. Hotel is perfectly located to visit Hanoi city center.

  Everything was perfect! The staff was very nice, and taking time to help with our requests. Literally situated in the middle of the city center, you can do everything by foot. The room was very luxurious and high standard. Appreciate also the rooftop bar!
  To be noted, we arrived earlier then expected, on the morning, and they were able to give us access to the room, with no extra charge.
  We forgot a suitcase once we left, and they arrange to send it to an other town where we were after.
