You know what struck me first about O’Gallery Premier Hotel & Spa? It’s tucked right into Hang Bong Street in a way that feels intentional – like someone actually thought about where to put a hotel instead of just grabbing whatever space was available. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, but more importantly, you’re in the thick of the Old Quarter without being on one of those impossibly narrow streets where motorbikes wake you up at 5 AM. The building itself has this sort of boutique feel that’s become pretty rare in Hanoi – it’s not trying to be a massive international chain, but it’s also not one of those cramped mini-hotels where you bump your elbows in the hallway.

What really gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between authentic Vietnamese hospitality and actually understanding what international travelers need. The spa isn’t just some afterthought stuck in the basement (honestly, I’ve seen too many of those) – they’ve clearly put thought into creating something that feels like a proper retreat after you’ve spent the day dodging traffic and haggling in Dong Xuan Market. The rooms have this clean, contemporary thing going on without feeling sterile, and the air conditioning actually works properly, which… well, if you’ve spent time in Vietnam during summer, you know that’s not always a given. I particularly appreciated that they seem to understand noise control – the windows actually block out most of the street sounds, though you’ll still hear the occasional horn (this is Hanoi, after all).

The location really is the star here, though. You’re close enough to walk to all the main spots – the Temple of Literature, the night market on weekends, that amazing bun cha place on Hang Manh that locals actually eat at – but you’re also positioned where you can easily grab a taxi or Grab to the more spread-out attractions without dealing with Old Quarter traffic jams. The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood, too, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out where to eat or how to navigate the weekend closures around the lake. With a 9.1 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it’s the kind of place where you actually sleep well and wake up ready to explore rather than feeling like you need a vacation from your vacation.

  The staff spoke English well and were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Given that Hanoi is very noisy I requested a quiet room and was given one at the back and so completely quiet. The included breakfast is a magnificent self-service buffet along with a selection of cooked items on request.
  
  I was on a day trip when I needed to check out, but they allowed me to use the spa shower to freshen up after I got back and before going to the airport. My luggage was stored safely.
  
  The central location means it is easy walking distance to places such as railway street and the Water Puppet theatre, and there is a huge variety of street food available. The room service menu is very good.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing.

  The welcome from the Staff when we arrived very late at night. The daily breakfast was superb with very attentive Staff.
  The Hotel is situated in the middle of the óld quarter'of Hanoi within easy reach of local eateries, interesting shops and tourist attractions.

  The staff and service were phenomenal. We booked an internal room not knowing how street noise would be, but we were pleasantly surprised that it had a window that allowed light in. The room was comfortable with nice fluffy pillows. We tried the spa, a must. I highly recommended.
