But here’s the thing: once you actually locate this place (and trust me, save the address in Vietnamese on your phone), you’ll realize that being slightly hidden is actually part of its charm.

The moment I walked in, I got why they call it “Ruby Relax Home” – it genuinely feels more like staying at a well-off Vietnamese friend’s house than some sterile hotel. The lobby’s got this warm, lived-in feeling with dark wood furniture and these really nice local art pieces that actually look like someone chose them, not just grabbed them from a hotel supply catalog. The staff here, well, they’re the kind of people who remember your name after one day and will actually sit down to draw you a proper map to the nearest phở place (which, by the way, is about a 7-minute walk and totally worth it). I mean, the English isn’t always perfect, but their enthusiasm to help makes up for any language barriers.

Now, about the rooms – they’re solid for a 4-star place, though I’d say it’s more like a really good 3.5-star experience. The beds are comfortable enough, AC works well (crucial for Hanoi summers), and the bathroom’s modern with decent water pressure. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which is honestly surprising given that you’re still technically in the city. The neighborhood’s mostly residential, so you’re not dealing with the motorbike symphony that never ends in the Old Quarter. Parking’s actually not terrible either – there’s space in front, though you might need to do some creative maneuvering during busy times. The Wi-Fi’s reliable, which was clutch since I was working remotely part of the time.

One thing that struck me was how this area gives you a real slice of local Hanoi life without being completely cut off from everything. You’ve got the big Lotte Tower visible in the distance, the metro’s accessible if you need it, but you’re also walking past little family-run shops and seeing kids playing in the alleys. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing actual Vietnamese daily life rather than just tourist Hanoi. Sure, it’s not the most convenient if you want to stumble back from a night out in the Old Quarter, but honestly? Sometimes it’s nice to have a peaceful retreat to come back to after a day of navigating the beautiful chaos that is central Hanoi.

  The only thing that was good about this Apartment was the Airconditioning and that we had warm water in the shower.
  
  What could be improved: Be Careful! The Owner wants you to pay the exact amount. He doesnt have change and wanted us to go to the store and buy something so that he didnt hade to give us change. We also had to go downstairs and had to knock on a different apartment where he wanted us to give the money to.
  
  There was Mold an all walls. The Bed had many hairs of other people on it. It was hard to find and you had to walk 4 floors to get to the room.

  Das Zimmer war sauber und ein Self-CheckIn war möglich. Der Austausch auf Whats App zuvor verlief reibungslos und freundlich 🙂
  
  What could be improved: Leider muss ich ehrlich sagen dass ich total enttäuscht bin. Das Zimmer ist sehr klein und nicht so hell wie auf den Bildern. Das Bett war sehr hart und es ist super HELLHÖRIG. Wir haben kaum ein Auge zubekommen über Nacht. Andauernd hat man Stimmen gehört und andere Geräusche aus Nachbarzimmern. Deshalb leider nicht zu empfehlen. Auch die Lage in der Gasse war irgendwie bisschen gruselig. Wem Schlaf wichtig ist, dem empfehle ich ein anderes Hotel.

  What could be improved: Nhà vệ sinh bẩn, chăn hôi, chủ home có báo lại là không có người ở mà cũng đã dọn trước đó rồi, nhưng vẫn có điều vậy. Thêm cả cũng k có nhân viên trực nên việc dọn vệ sinh hay cần gì thì k có người hỗ trợ luôn nên cũng có đôi chút bất tiện

  What could be improved: Hôm mình đặt k có phòng tầng thấp,phòng cao quá lên hơi mệt nhưng coi như tập thể dục.hihi

  Phòng ốc sạch sẽ, self-checkin nên cũng ko cần phải chờ đợi lâu. Vị trí nếu đi xe máy khá gần với sân Mỹ Đình nha. Chuyến đi ngắn ngày nên mình book đại phòng cơ mà cũng ok phết. Gần chỗ ở có chợ và tạp hoá nên việc ăn uống cũng khá là tiện nha.
  
  What could be improved: Leo 5 tầng mệt bở hơi tai luôn ấy ạ, không có thang máy nên hơi bất tiện khi đi kèm hành lý nhiều. Self-check in bằng mật mã tuy tiện nhưng mà mình đã phát cáu khi lần đầu ko thể mò được bảng số để bấm mật mã. Mong chủ home cân nhắc thêm về việc lắp đặt máy nhập mk chỗ khác nhé.

  The room was nice and clean, it's good to stay for a few days before next flight.
  
  What could be improved: It was a quest to open main door(entrance from street to common staircase) because need to put your hand into small hole in the door and enter pin code, but you literally can't see buttons because they are upper than this hole.
