Here’s the thing about staying in Quang An that most people don’t realize: you’re perfectly positioned between the expat scene around West Lake and authentic Vietnamese neighborhood life. Walk five minutes toward the lake and you’ll hit those trendy cafés and international restaurants, but stick around your immediate area and there’s this incredible bánh mì lady who sets up her cart every morning around 7 AM. The 8.3 rating makes sense – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises. Check-in was smooth (they actually waited for me when my flight got delayed), and the wifi was solid enough for video calls back home. The only minor thing is that the shower pressure could be better, but honestly, that’s pretty standard for older buildings in this part of Hanoi. What really sells this place is the location – you’re a short xe om ride to the Old Quarter, walking distance to West Lake’s jogging path, and surrounded by the kind of local eateries where you point at what looks good and hope for the best. It’s got that sweet spot feeling where you’re experiencing real Hanoi without being completely overwhelmed by it.

  After complaining about my first room, I was able to upgrade from the ground floor to the sixth floor for an additional charge. The view and light were great, and there were no cockroaches. However, the smell wasn't great. I kept the windows open the whole time, even at night, because otherwise it wasn't pleasant. Also, all of the furniture is quite old, and it looks like it's been water damaged, as the floor is wavy. There are many great restaurants nearby, and it's a quiet area. Communication was excellent at all times.

  Communication with owner difficult, we ordered airport pick up from him and he was 30-45 mins late even after sending flight number and landing time. Never saw him again after that

  This was a fantastic stay in a beautiful apartment complex. The only thing that was slightly strange was that when I got there, nobody was at the reception so I had to wait 30 minutes to get into my room… other than that the place is clean and comfortable and I would stay again 😊

  If you need to be in Tay Ho (as I did) then the location was fantastic. Very friendly host Ms Trang. Very professional. Key easy to access. I arrived very late at night and all went smoothly and instructions perfect. Good size studio apartment.
  
  What could be improved: I would have like a bottle of water in the room as when I arrived I was thirsty and it was too late for the shops to be open. A smoke detector would have made me feel safer. Lacked a tea towel to dry the dishes. Overall though I was very happy.
