Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to the Victor Gallery on Hang Gai Street – I mean, it’s right in the thick of the Old Quarter madness where motorbikes are practically weaving through your legs and every other building is selling silk scarves. But stepping through those doors? Complete transformation. The place actually lives up to its “gallery” name with this curated art collection scattered throughout, and not in that trying-too-hard way some boutique hotels do.

The location is kind of genius when you think about it. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake (perfect for those early morning walks before the city wakes up), and Hang Gai itself is one of those streets where you can actually find decent stuff – real lacquerware mixed in with the tourist trinkets. What I really appreciated was how they’ve soundproofed the rooms because, let’s be real, the Old Quarter doesn’t exactly quiet down at night. The spa on the upper floors becomes this unexpected sanctuary where you can actually hear yourself think, which is saying something in Hanoi. Their Vietnamese massage therapists know what they’re doing too – none of that gentle tourist stuff, they’ll work out those knots you didn’t even know you had from lugging your backpack around the city.

The rooms themselves feel more spacious than you’d expect for this part of town, and they’ve got this warm wood aesthetic that somehow makes the place feel both modern and respectful of where it sits. Check-in was surprisingly smooth – the staff actually remembers your name, which is refreshing. You know what really sold me though? The breakfast setup. Instead of the usual international buffet nonsense, they’ll make you proper pho if you ask, and their Vietnamese coffee is the real deal, not some watered-down version for Western palates. The rooftop area gets packed during sunset (and honestly, I get why), but if you time it right around 4 PM, you can snag a spot and watch the controlled chaos of the Old Quarter from above. Fair warning though – weekends get busy since it’s popular with both travelers and locals celebrating something, but that energy is part of the charm. For the price point and that 9-rating they’ve earned, you’re getting solid value in a neighborhood where location usually means sacrificing comfort, but somehow they’ve managed both.

  Victor gallery hotel is one of the best hotels in Vietnam, We stayed there. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable. The rooms were spacious, clean, and had breathtaking views. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Vietnam. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, offering a variety of local and international dishes. Conveniently located near major attractions, it made exploring the city effortless. We had a free upgrade to King room city view was beautiful, large room and modern amenities made our stay even more enjoyable.
