Vitamin Home Hoè Nhai Overview

You know what struck me first about Vitamin Home Hoè Nhai? The name honestly made me chuckle – it sounds like a health food store, but this little 4-star spot on Hoè Nhai street is actually a solid find in Ba Dinh district. I mean, when you’re wandering around this part of Hanoi (which, let’s be real, isn’t exactly the Old Quarter everyone raves about), you start to appreciate places that get the basics right without trying too hard to impress.

The thing about staying here is you’re genuinely in a local neighborhood – like, actually local. I’d walk out in the morning and see office workers grabbing bánh mì from the corner vendor, not tour groups posing for selfies. Hoè Nhai street itself is pretty quiet, which was perfect after dealing with the motorbike symphony everywhere else in the city. The hotel sits in this narrow building that’s typical for Hanoi – you know, one of those tall, skinny places where you wonder how they fit everything in. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no fancy lobby drama or anything, just efficient and friendly staff who actually seemed to care about helping rather than just going through motions.

What I really appreciated was how the rooms felt more like a well-designed apartment than a hotel box. The “Vitamin” name starts making sense when you see how much natural light they’ve managed to work into the spaces – honestly impressive for a city where buildings are packed tighter than sardines. The beds were comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with questionable pillows all night, and the bathrooms were clean with decent water pressure (trust me, that’s not a given in this price range around Hanoi). The 7.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but there weren’t any of those annoying little problems that can ruin a stay either. No mysterious stains, no broken air conditioning, no staff pretending they don’t understand basic English when something needs fixing.

Being in Ba Dinh means you’re actually closer to some of the more interesting cultural spots – Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is walkable if you’re into that sort of thing, and the Temple of Literature is just a short taxi ride away. But here’s what the guidebooks won’t tell you: this area has some fantastic local restaurants that haven’t been discovered by every food blogger yet. I found this incredible bún chả place about three blocks away that became my regular spot – the kind of place where pointing at what the next table ordered works perfectly fine. The neighborhood also connects easily to the rest of the city without being right in the chaos, which honestly felt like the best of both worlds after a few days of sensory overload elsewhere in Hanoi.

Reviews of Vitamin Home Hoè Nhai

  • Javier from Chile – 12 March 2025 (7/10)

The place is spacious and comfortable

What could be improved: They could put something to cover the smell of fried food coming from the first floor (there is a restaurant)

  • Rajendra from Portugal – 28 November 2024 (9/10)

The hostess Vitaminhha was excellent. She resolved all the issues immediately. The apartment was comfortable and spacious. Found the wifi good and did not have any issues. The location is very good with all necessities available just below the apartment. Sightseeing places are about 1.2 km away and about 15 to 20 mins walking. Bed is comfortable. There was no disturbance due to work or repair in the surrounding area and we had a quiet stay.

What could be improved: apartment was clean but could be cleaner. The access doors are a bit difficult to operate and the stairs could be cleaner for those that do not wish to use the lift.

  • Trang from Vietnam – 17 September 2024 (7/10)

What could be improved: The floor is dirty (there're footprint). No parking lot provided.

  • Jozef from Slovakia – 27 June 2024 (8/10)

    Clean and functional ac

  • Federica from Italy – 27 April 2024 (8/10)

The place is good and far enough from the main road to be quiet, it's fairly clean and the room is spacious with a fridge and kitchen

  • Niccolò from Italy – 16 April 2024 (8/10)

Cheap apartment in a good location to visit Hanoi main attractions. Owner quite kind and accommodating to our needs (e.g. early check out).

What could be improved: Pictures in booking ad are a bit outdated as the room is in a quite worse condition. Stains on the sofa, a lot of dust on some furniture and on the air conditioning.

  • Vit from Czech Republic – 17 November 2023 (8/10)

Nice clean colourful room with equipped kitchen and bathroom.

What could be improved: We could not totally close the windows so we could hear some noise. I thought we would have 2 rooms, but one with a bed, table and couch was enough for us.

  • Francesca from United Kingdom – 11 November 2023 (8/10)

Home away from home! Great location and has everything you need, perfect for a short or long stay in Hanoi.

What could be improved: Needs more things in the kitchen like cutlery and glasses and somewhere to hang washed laundry on would be ideal – everything else was fab!

  • Geleen from Philippines – 4 September 2023 (7/10)

The property was okay. It was a little old and almost everything works manually.

What could be improved: The aircon in the living wasn’t getting cold and the bathtub was a little dusty. There wasn’t any floor mats. I stayed in the 6th floor, June apartment.

  • Dmitry from Russia – 28 May 2023 (7/10)

Good appartment. It is not new, but clean. The appartment is for 4 person with 2 rooms. If you book for 2 person, the bed room with windows will be closed. But you can promise using only one bed, so you will get a key to the bed room, which is nice and cosy. The bed room windows overlook to a small road, so it is little bit noisy sometimes.
