The thing about Hang Giay Street is that it’s deep enough into the Old Quarter maze that you feel like you’re really *in* Hanoi, but you’re still only a five-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake when you need to orient yourself. I loved that in the mornings I could hear the sounds of the neighborhood waking up – motorbikes puttering past, vendors setting up their sidewalk stalls, that general hum of Vietnamese street life – but it wasn’t the chaotic noise you get on some of the main drags like Hang Bac or Ma May. The rooms themselves are surprisingly spacious for this part of town (Old Quarter accommodations can be, well, cozy), and whoever designed them actually thought about where you’d want to put your suitcase and charge your devices. Small things, but they matter when you’re living somewhere for more than a night or two.

What really sold me on this place was the staff’s local knowledge – and I don’t mean the usual tourist recommendations. When I mentioned I was looking for good pho that wasn’t touristy, the front desk guy (his English was solid, by the way) sent me to this tiny place about three blocks away where I was literally the only foreigner. It’s that kind of insider insight that makes Zeus Living feel more like staying with friends than just booking a room. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me because honestly, it’s not perfect – the WiFi can be spotty during peak hours, and the hot water takes a minute to kick in – but those are minor gripes in a neighborhood where character often comes with quirks. If you’re the type who wants to experience Hanoi rather than just pass through it, and you appreciate a place that balances local authenticity with actual comfort, this homestay gets it right. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that feels like a well-kept secret, even though it’s right in the heart of everything.

  Perfect location. The host is very responsive whenever I have questions or i need something.The property is in the ground floor. What I liked was they have washing machine and drier so we can do laundry since we did not bring a lot of clothes.
  
  What could be improved: Slight invonvenience for the people who want to use the toilet frequently since the beds are upstairs. If you want to use it, you have to down.

  Location of the home stay is very Good. Old quarter is shopping hub of Hanoi, and 10 to 15 indian vegetarian restaurant are located in 1 km range. Ramkrishna vegetarian restaurant was too good.

  The location is great and the atmosphere is nice.
  
  What could be improved: The place doesn't have windows only in the kitchen. The apartment was not soundproof at all. We could listen to music with them until 1am and waking up at 6am. One of the beds is not a bed, very hard mattress unlike the other. Too bad about the overhead projector, which was promised but not checked before the customers arrived!
