You’ll hear roosters in the morning (there’s still some of that old Hanoi neighborhood feel), but you won’t hear motorbikes honking all night like you would closer to Hoàn Kiếm. The walk to the lake is literally 30 seconds, and there’s something really peaceful about starting your day with a stroll around the water before the city fully wakes up. Parking was surprisingly easy – they’ve got a small lot, which is rare for this area. Check-in was smooth, no hassles with my booking, and they stored my luggage without any fuss when I arrived early. With a 9.7 rating, I was expecting it to be good, but sometimes high ratings just mean they’re trying really hard.   Could’ve have found a better place to spend my time in Hanoi. An Nguyen Lakeside Residence provides all that a traveller could ask for. The location was perfect, away from the Old Quarter chaos, but close enough to most tourist attractions to enjoy my time here. The room I picked was fairly essential, but the balcony view made it truly exceptional, with sights of the lake and surrounding areas. Finally, staff was truly lovely. They are at the reception 24/7, always ready to help with kindness and professionalism. They made my stay extremely comfortable, taking care of the laundry, keeping my bags on my last day, and providing useful information.

  An Nguyen Lakeside Residence is truly a gem in the Truc Bach Lake area of Hanoi. The serene lake view from our apartment was breathtaking, and the room itself was spotless and beautifully maintained.
  
  What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the warm and thoughtful hospitality of Celina and Son. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for. Son's cappuccinos were nothing short of perfection—a delightful surprise I looked forward to each morning.
  
  Celina’s dedication went far beyond expectations. When one of our bags was delayed by the airline, she and the entire team—including the night staff—stepped in to help us communicate with the airport staff, providing translation and support throughout the ordeal. Thanks to them, a stressful situation became much more manageable.
  
  Celina also took the time to recommend great vegetarian food spots and local shopping options, making our exploration of the area even more enjoyable.
  
  This kind of personalized, heartfelt service is rare. We’re deeply grateful and would return in a heartbeat!

  We had a lovely stay at An Nguyen Lakeside Residence. I wouldn’t book anywhere else in Hanoi! It’s in a quiet area right on the riverside with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. Old Town is only a $2 Grab ride away. We stayed in Old Town before here and much preferred this location as our own oasis from the hustle and bustle. The apartment itself was spacious, clean and modern. We also loved the staff, the women at the front desk were so friendly and happy to provide any and all recommendations. The daily salted coffee is a must!

  The location was great. The street in front was quiet with many coffee shops and even a cat cafe. The room was clean and modern. The self service washers and dryers on the top floor was very convenient. There are even clothes lines for line drying. The staff was very friendly and enjoyed the daily complimentary cafe drink. If you are luck you would be greeted by Abby the resident Corgi.
