Apartments by Vitrine Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Apartments by Vitrine” I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this place on Trần Xuân Soạn street really surprised me. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, someone actually thought about what travelers need”? That’s exactly what happened here. The building sits right in Hai Bà Trưng district, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods that locals love but tourists somehow miss – it’s got this perfect balance where you’re close enough to the action but not drowning in tourist chaos.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to make these apartments feel like actual homes rather than sterile hotel rooms. I mean, you’ve got proper kitchens (not just those sad little coffee makers), decent-sized living areas, and – this is huge if you’re staying more than a couple nights – space to actually unpack your stuff. The whole setup works especially well if you’re doing that thing where you want to explore Hanoi but also need a proper base to decompress. Walking around the neighborhood, you’ll notice it’s where a lot of young professionals live, so there are good coffee shops that aren’t trying to be Instagram famous, solid street food (there’s this bánh mì lady two blocks down who’s been there forever), and honestly just a more authentic slice of how people actually live in Hanoi.

The staff actually knows the area – like, really knows it, not just the tourist script version. When I asked about getting to the Old Quarter without dealing with the main traffic arteries, they gave me this route through smaller streets that locals use. And here’s something you don’t always get with apartment-style places: they’re actually responsive when you need something. The 9.4 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not just about fancy amenities, it’s about getting the basics really right. The Wi-Fi actually works for video calls (tested it multiple times), the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and the beds are legitimately comfortable, not just “well, it’s better than a hostel” comfortable. If you’re planning to stay in Hanoi for more than just a quick weekend and want something that feels less like a hotel room and more like borrowing a friend’s place – assuming your friend has good taste and reliable internet – this is definitely worth considering. Plus, you’re positioned perfectly to explore both the traditional Hanoi stuff and the more contemporary side of the city without feeling like you’re constantly commuting between two different worlds.

  • Lily from Australia – 29 March 2025 (10/10)

    Amazing!!

What could be improved: A but far from the old quarter but the neighbourhood is really nice

  • David from Luxembourg – 18 March 2025 (10/10)

Excellent location, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Quite a walk to the Old Quarter, but we knew this when we booked. Lots of space in the apartment, very comfortable for the whole family to spend a few days.

What could be improved: Very little. Needed to have a new safety deposit box brought up to us, but that was all. A tea towel in the kitchen would be useful, to dry an items we washed.

  • Sandra from Australia – 13 March 2025 (9/10)

Spacious. Rooms at the back quiet.

What could be improved: English was very limited.
We thought there would have been a Concierge available on site with a Map and directions. Very different to a hotel where you have assistance.

  • Arrua from Argentina – 12 March 2025 (10/10)

It was a central location and the apartment was absolutely stunning. We loved it

    What could be improved: .

What could be improved: Have some noise from the renovation neighbours

  • Alex from Australia – 16 December 2024 (9/10)

Beautiful apartment, clean, comfortable beds, good location, friendly staff

What could be improved: There’s noise from the construction site nearby on weekday early morning. Otherwise the apartment is perfect!

  • Soheila from United Kingdom – 18 November 2024 (10/10)
