The whole setup works especially well if you’re doing that thing where you want to explore Hanoi but also need a proper base to decompress. Walking around the neighborhood, you’ll notice it’s where a lot of young professionals live, so there are good coffee shops that aren’t trying to be Instagram famous, solid street food (there’s this bánh mì lady two blocks down who’s been there forever), and honestly just a more authentic slice of how people actually live in Hanoi.

The staff actually knows the area – like, really knows it, not just the tourist script version. When I asked about getting to the Old Quarter without dealing with the main traffic arteries, they gave me this route through smaller streets that locals use. And here’s something you don’t always get with apartment-style places: they’re actually responsive when you need something. The 9.4 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not just about fancy amenities, it’s about getting the basics really right. The Wi-Fi actually works for video calls (tested it multiple times), the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and the beds are legitimately comfortable, not just “well, it’s better than a hostel” comfortable. If you’re planning to stay in Hanoi for more than just a quick weekend and want something that feels less like a hotel room and more like borrowing a friend’s place – assuming your friend has good taste and reliable internet – this is definitely worth considering. Plus, you’re positioned perfectly to explore both the traditional Hanoi stuff and the more contemporary side of the city without feeling like you’re constantly commuting between two different worlds.

  Excellent location, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Quite a walk to the Old Quarter, but we knew this when we booked. Lots of space in the apartment, very comfortable for the whole family to spend a few days.
  
  What could be improved: Very little. Needed to have a new safety deposit box brought up to us, but that was all. A tea towel in the kitchen would be useful, to dry an items we washed.
