Aurora Central Hanoi Hotel Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Aurora Central Hanoi? The moment I walked through that narrow entrance on Hang Chieu Street, I felt like I’d discovered something the tour groups hadn’t found yet. I mean, you’re literally in the thick of the Old Quarter here—I could hear the morning motorbike symphony and smell pho broth drifting up from the street-level shops—but somehow this place manages to feel like a quiet sanctuary once you’re inside.
The thing about staying right on Hang Chieu is that you’re maybe a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by all the streets that actually matter. Want proper bun cha? There’s this tiny place around the corner that locals hit up around 11 AM. Need to grab supplies or just wander? The weekend night market literally unfolds right outside your door Friday through Sunday. Honestly, I’ve stayed in fancier hotels in Hanoi’s French Quarter, but I spent half my time trying to get back to this neighborhood anyway, so why not just plant yourself here from the start?
What really impressed me—and look, I’m picky about hotels after way too many travel disasters—was how they’ve managed the noise situation. You’d think being this central would mean zero sleep, but they’ve actually got solid windows and the rooms facing the internal courtyard are surprisingly peaceful. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too, not just the scripted tourist recommendations. When I mentioned wanting to find a good tailor, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the obvious tourist traps on Hang Gai. Instead, he walked me outside and pointed down this little alley I never would’ve noticed, where his family apparently gets their ao dai made. That’s the kind of local insight you can’t Google, you know? The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid four-star—clean, comfortable beds, decent WiFi that actually works when you need to upload photos, and bathrooms that don’t make you miss home. Nothing revolutionary, but everything done right. I particularly liked that they don’t go overboard with the colonial nostalgia theme that every other hotel in this area seems obsessed with. It feels more modern and less like you’re staying in a museum. One small thing that might bug some people—the elevator’s pretty tiny, so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, you might be making multiple trips. But honestly, that’s pretty standard for this part of town where most buildings are squeezed into spaces that were never meant for hotels anyway. With a 9.5 rating, I was expecting something special, and while it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, it absolutely nails what matters most: location, comfort, and that feeling like you’re staying somewhere that gets Hanoi rather than just existing in it.

Reviews of Aurora Central Hanoi Hotel
Vi from Cambodia – 3 June 2025 (10/10)
We stayed 1 week in Hanoi at the Old Quarter area. Luckily the last two nights of our trip, finally we found the hotel with a large room and the bed very comfy with acceptable prices. The room is large compared to the other hotels we stayed in the same area in Hanoi. The location is good which is very comfortable. I had should find this hotel earlier. The room disigh is very cosy. The receptionist very kind and helpful also take care of everything you need. Thank for provided us checking in early. During our trip in Vietnam we had tried soup Pho in a fews places and the soup at the hotel breakfast was 10 out of 10. We're going to miss the taste. Highly recommend Aurora Central hotel when you're planning to visit Hanoi.

Family Suite was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Good value for money.
Excellent location in the Old Quarter, surrounded by many cafes and restaurants. Very close/short walk to market and night market (weekends).
Friendly and helpful staff especially Lily, Sophia and Junior. They were amazing and gave us a late check out, which was greatly appreciated. I appreciate all the coffee advice given to me by Sophia (where to buy, best coffee to take home)! Lily was super friendly and accommodating at breakfast. THANK YOU!
Communication with the hotel was extremely efficient and fast.
We highly recommend this hotel!Nho from United States – 30 May 2025 (10/10)

Friendly staff, very clean and comfortable room. The location is on the fringe of the Old Quarter yet very convenient to walk to all the relevant sights and eateries. The massage by the in-house spa was very good; the therapist was skillful. Breakfast choices were plentiful and there was also a separate menu for additional items.
What could be improved: When the hotel was sharing information about tours after booking, the staff made a strange comment "you ask the price just to compare?" when I inquire about the prices of the tours they were promoting although I had already prebooked some tours separately. Maybe it is just language or cultural difference, but it did gave me a weird vibe.Natasha from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Location was old quarter too busy place for us.Kaye from Australia – 21 May 2025 (10/10)
Very modern, staff couldn’t be more helpful. We had a lovely massage, spa and sauna on roof top. Nice breakfast choices. Felt a bit strange bring in the middle of the Old Quarter with all the motor bikes and nowhere to walk, but were directed to a lovely restaurant just up the road called Uptown Restaurant. Highly recommend.
What could be improved: The rooms were beautiful but being on the 2nd floor was a bit noisy with traffic right out the window.Rennie from Australia – 16 May 2025 (9/10)
Very central location in Old Quarter close to restaurants cafes and shops
Room was spacious and balcony view.
Most of all the team at Aurora Central were brilliant and could not have been more attentive!
What could be improved: Be aware the location is extremely busy and noisy but to be expected when staying in the Old Quarter.
