The location on Quan Su Street is sort of perfect if you think about it. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake (I timed it), but you’re not stuck in the absolute chaos of the weekend night market madness. The street itself has this nice buzz – there’s a little coffee shop next door where the locals actually hang out, not just tourists, and you can grab proper pho at this tiny place around the corner that doesn’t even have a sign. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, it’s still Hanoi, so there’s always some motorbike action, but the rooms face inward enough that you can actually sleep without earplugs.

The staff here – and I’m usually pretty skeptical about this stuff – genuinely seem to know the city. When I asked about getting to the Temple of Literature without dealing with tourist traps, the guy at the front desk drew me an actual hand-sketched map showing which alleys to cut through. That’s the kind of detail that makes a difference when you’re trying to see the real Hanoi, not just the Instagram version. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a good four-star place, but it’s the little things that stuck with me. The shower pressure is excellent (trust me, this matters after a day of walking around in 90-degree heat), and they’ve got this thing where they leave you actual Vietnamese coffee beans instead of those weird international packets most hotels use. The breakfast situation is solid too – yeah, there’s the standard international stuff, but they also do a proper Vietnamese breakfast spread that changes daily. I honestly ended up eating there most mornings just to try different regional dishes I wouldn’t have known to order otherwise. One small thing though – the elevator can get pretty crowded during peak hours, so if you’re on the higher floors, just factor in a few extra minutes. But honestly, with a 9.2 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after spending a week there, I get it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, it’s just trying to be the kind of place you’d want to stay again – and you know what? That’s exactly what it is.
