Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw D’Capitale – Luka homes was in a residential apartment complex on Trần Duy Hưng, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But walking into this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked into the C5 tower of this modern complex in Cầu Giấy, and you know what? That location is actually brilliant if you want to experience Hanoi like someone who lives here, not just passes through.

The thing about staying here is you’re right in the middle of real Hanoi life – I mean, you’ve got locals doing their morning exercises in the courtyard below, street food vendors setting up on the corner, and honestly, some of the best bún chả I’ve had was literally a five-minute walk away. The host clearly knows their stuff because the apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home, not a sterile hotel room. Everything works (which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given), the Wi-Fi is solid, and there’s this attention to small details that you don’t usually get – like actually good coffee in the kitchen and towels that don’t feel like sandpaper. The building’s modern so you get reliable elevators and decent soundproofing, though you’ll still hear the city humming below, which I actually found charming after a day or two.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re walking distance from Lotte Tower if you need that international mall fix, but also close enough to wander into the older parts of Trung Hoà where things get more interesting. The motorbike situation around here is manageable compared to the Old Quarter chaos, and grabbing a taxi or Grab is never a problem from this spot. I stayed here during a busy week in November and never felt like I was fighting crowds just to get around. Plus – and this might sound weird – but there’s something nice about coming “home” to an actual apartment building instead of a hotel lobby. You sort of blend in with the rhythm of the place, which made my whole Hanoi experience feel more authentic. The 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just really, really well done.
