Delapong Hotel and Apartment Ha Noi Overview

You know what caught me off guard about the Delapong Hotel? It’s tucked away on Tuệ Tĩnh Street in Hai Ba Trung district, which honestly isn’t where most tourists end up – and that’s actually a good thing. I mean, you’re still in Hanoi proper, but you get this weird sense of being where actual locals live and work instead of dodging selfie sticks every five minutes. The building itself has that clean, modern Vietnamese hotel vibe – nothing fancy, but you can tell they actually care about upkeep. Check-in was surprisingly smooth, and the staff spoke better English than I expected (though my Vietnamese is terrible, so that’s not saying much).

What really sold me on this place was how it sits right in the middle of real Hanoi life. Walk five minutes in any direction and you’ll hit these little street food spots that don’t even have names – just plastic stools and incredible bánh mì that costs about a dollar. The Vincom Center is close enough if you need familiar shopping, but honestly, the neighborhood markets are way more interesting. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re renting a motorbike, but the hotel staff will sort you out. The rooms are clean and well-maintained – I stayed in one of their apartment-style setups and it had this tiny kitchenette that was perfect for making coffee in the morning before hitting the streets. Air conditioning works great, which matters more than you’d think during Hanoi summers. The wifi actually delivers on its promise, unlike some places I’ve stayed where “high-speed internet” means you can maybe check email if you’re lucky.

Here’s the thing about staying in Hai Ba Trung district – you’re close enough to the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake (maybe 15 minutes by taxi), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the constant motorbike chaos and tourist restaurant prices. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you can walk to legitimate local restaurants, grab a proper Vietnamese coffee that hasn’t been dumbed down for tourists, and still feel safe wandering around at night. I actually ended up extending my stay because the daily rate was reasonable and the staff was genuinely helpful – not just polite, but actually knowledgeable about getting around the city. The building stays pretty quiet even though you’re in the city, and the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with concrete. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but if you want a solid, well-run place that puts you in touch with actual Hanoi instead of tourist Hanoi, the Delapong delivers. Plus, that 8.5 rating isn’t inflated – it’s earned.

Reviews of Delapong Hotel and Apartment Ha Noi

  • Thant from Myanmar – 20 March 2025 (9/10)

Very comfortable room with good lighting if you get the room with balcony. Room has decent size for Hanoi and bed and shower were very convenient. Location is very good with 20 minutes walk to the old quarter but the area itself has a lot of shops and friendly local places away from the busy touristy hustle. The most important thing is that the room has good ventilation. They won’t provide cleaning by default unless you ask for it and you need to buy own water. It was no problem for us. The staff won’t speak English but they are patient to use Google translate to communicate. I had absolutely zero problem staying here and totally enjoyed it.

What could be improved: Location is a little bit noisy with honking by the vehicles outside. But it is normal for the city. There was a Karaoke place beside, but luckily they didn’t have any noise during the night when I was there. The name of the property is different on Google map and It wasn’t on Grab also. Location of the property on Google map wasn’t very accurate so it consumed me a bit and took me a while to find it. The only downside was they only accept cash so I had to pay extra ATM charges to pay them.

What could be improved: bad wifi, very loud

Nội thất sạch sẽ tuyệt vời. Có một kì nghỉ tuyệt vời để chạy marathon ngoài hà nội. Rất gần công viên Thống Nhất. Xung quanh cũng rất nhiều quán ăn uống.

  • Lê from Vietnam – 8 October 2024 (8/10)

Location is great, many famous local food restaurant nearby, you just walk around Tue Tinh street and can find many good food. The opposite is Thong Nhat park – the biggest park in Hanoi, alot of trees and windy

What could be improved: Nothing, it's perfect worthy

  • Ludovic from Belgium – 13 August 2024 (1/10)

What could be improved: If you want to sleep don't go there. The hotel is next to a night Karaoke that starts at 10 pm and finishes at 5:30 am.
No matter which rooms/floor you take, you always have a common wall with the karaoke. We actually changed 3 times the room and it was the same.
There is no soundproofing walls so that means you can hear everything. The walls, the bed, the furnitures are shaking as the music is extremely load.
We could not sleep so we had to leave before the end of our trip and look for something else.
Another thing, apparently this hotel can not allow foreigners to stay there. After couple of days (without proper rest) they came to our room at 10 pm and ask us to leave the room at 7 am in the morning because the police for a check of the hotel. And they did not want us to be seen by the police. We told them many times as we were already tired because of this karaoke thing that we don't want to leave that early as it was the only time where it was quiet in the room. So they agreed we could stay but ask us to not make any noise and to not leave the room before they tell us to. See this situation is dodgy.

It's pretty ashame because the flat is nice but really trust me you won't be able to sleep, even if you have earplugs like us. It's like being in a club with a bed.

  • Thanh from Vietnam – 5 July 2024 (9/10)

The hotel just renovated, very nice and clean
The staff is very helpful, they sent me my belongings that I forgot and left in the room when check out
The street around hotel is lively and plenty of cheap vietnamese traditional food that you should try like Crab noodles, deep fried tofu with vermicelli

    What could be improved: No

  • Panagiotis from United Kingdom – 16 April 2024 (9/10)

NICE BIG ROOM RECENTLY RENOVATED, LOTS OF NATURAL LIGHT. LOCATION IS IN FRONT THE PARK WITH SOME NICE RESTAURANTS AROUND

What could be improved: THE ONLY HAVE ONE MEMBER OF STAFF THAT DOESN'T SPEAK ENGLISH. THIS IS NOT A HOTEL ITS APARTMENTS FOR RENT SO IT IS TO BE EXPECTED

  • Eunmi from South Korea – 29 March 2024 (9/10)

    Clean and cozy

    What could be improved: Noisy
