You know what caught me off guard about Dream Hotel and Apartment? It’s tucked away on Nguyen Luong Bang street in Dong Da, which honestly isn’t where most tourists end up, but that’s actually what makes it kind of perfect. I mean, you’re still close enough to the Old Quarter – maybe a 15-minute grab ride – but you get to see how Hanoi actually works when it’s not performing for visitors.

The building itself has this interesting mix going on. It’s got that newer Vietnamese hotel aesthetic (clean lines, lots of white marble in the lobby) but the apartment-style rooms feel more lived-in than your typical cookie-cutter hotel setup. I stayed in one of their larger rooms and honestly, the kitchenette was way more functional than I expected – not just a mini-fridge and coffee maker situation, but actual counter space where you could prep some of those amazing fruits from the morning markets. The beds are properly firm too, which… look, after bouncing around Southeast Asia for a while, you start to really appreciate when a mattress doesn’t feel like it’s swallowing you whole.

What really won me over though was the neighborhood vibe. Step outside and you’re immediately in this residential pocket where locals are doing their thing – there’s a fantastic pho place about two blocks down that doesn’t even have a sign in English, and this little convenience store next door where the owner started recognizing me by day three. The street gets genuinely quiet at night, which is rare for Hanoi, but you can still hear the distant hum of motorbikes that somehow becomes oddly comforting after a few days. Parking was surprisingly easy if you’re brave enough to rent a scooter, and the staff – they’re not overly polished in that five-star hotel way, but they actually seem to care about helping you figure things out. One of the front desk guys drew me this hand-sketched map to avoid the crazy traffic near Hoan Kiem during rush hour, and honestly it saved me so much stress. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you think about it – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it gets the important stuff right and gives you a genuine taste of living in Hanoi rather than just visiting it.

  We had a comfortable stay for one week in Dreams Residence.
  A special thanks to Tina and all the staff at the residence. They were very helpful.

  The staff was good about cracking down on smoking. One day our floor reeked of cigarette smoke, but after we reported it, it wasn't an issue for the remainder of our stay. The bed and couch were comfortable, and the kitchen equipment was pretty good. It wasn't the cleanest, but it was clean enough. The breakfast was also quite good.
  
  What could be improved: Our bedroom floor was quite dusty and dirty, and we had to make a special request to have it properly mopped. The location was also quite inconvenient. We typically had to take a taxi 3 or 4 kilometers to get where we wanted. That may not sound far, but with Hanoi traffic, it takes about 5 minutes to go one kilometer! The hotel is also right next to a crazy roundabout that has traffic coming from four or five directions! It was quite the adrenaline rush trying to cross it on foot!

  I usually come back here due to location, facilities and good service. Great for remote work but also exploring Ha Noi outside most tourist places. Each room is basically an apartment, very well equipped including ricecooker. Very comfortable beds.
  
  What could be improved: The only disadvantage of the place is that it is near a huge intersection that on one hand is very interesting to observe, on the other it is hard to cross it due to traffic.

  excellent check-in, staff very helpful. The breakfast is excellent. There is a small lake across the road from the hotel, it is not exceptionally beautiful but there are lots of cafes where you can sit out in an evening and it is very relaxing and very local
  
  What could be improved: nothing. I used to live on the same street as the hotel for 5 years so i know the area very well. This is a great place to stay, especially if you are on business or you like the idea of a fully functional apartment.

  Great quality accomodation. If you are plant person you will love the plants in common areas like the terrace. Very comfortable apartment, super clean.
