I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked down that narrow ngõ off Hoàng Hoa Thám – honestly, the address looks intimidating with all those numbers, but FLESTA Doi Can turned out to be one of those hidden gems that make you feel like you’ve discovered something special in Hanoi. The building sits tucked away in this quiet residential pocket of Ba Dinh, and I mean properly quiet – none of that motorbike chaos you get on the main drag, just the occasional sounds of local life drifting up from the alley.

The serviced apartment setup is actually perfect if you’re staying more than just a couple nights. I had this spacious unit with a proper kitchenette (not just a mini-fridge and instant noodle kettle like some places), and the staff genuinely seemed to care about making sure everything worked. The woman at reception – I think her name was Linh – remembered my coffee preference after the second day, which honestly surprised me. What really sold me on the place was how they’ve managed to keep that Vietnamese residential feel while still having all the modern touches you actually need. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, the hot water is reliable, and there’s decent soundproofing between units.

Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk to the Old Quarter if you cut through the back streets (which I’d recommend – you’ll pass this amazing bánh mì cart that the locals line up for around 7 AM), or you can grab a taxi to Hoan Kiem Lake in maybe five minutes depending on traffic. The neighborhood itself is brilliant for getting a feel for actual Hanoi life – there’s a wet market just two blocks over where I’d grab fresh fruit, and this family-run phở place on the corner of the main street that doesn’t have a sign in English but serves some of the best broth I had during my entire trip. I mean, you’re not exactly in the thick of tourist central, but that’s sort of the point. You get to experience the city without feeling like you’re constantly navigating through tour groups and souvenir shops. The only minor thing is that finding the entrance can be a bit tricky the first time – it’s through that residential courtyard – but once you know where you’re going, it’s actually quite charming having your own little peaceful corner in the middle of everything.

  Très bel appartement spacieux, propre et fonctionnel. Bonne situation géographique pour visiter, tout à 30 min de marche ou 10 min en taxi.

  I stayed here for the second time, because it was good and I rented a. Motorbike from Tigit which is on walking distance. You can park your bike below the hotel (it has an elevator)
