Fusion Links Apartments Overview
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Fusion Links Apartments when I first walked down Hàng Bông Street – you know how some of these Old Quarter places can be hit or miss. But this spot actually surprised me in the best way. The building sits right in the thick of things, which I mean, that’s both the charm and the challenge of staying in Hoan Kiem. You’re literally steps from the weekend night market chaos (in a good way), but somehow once you’re inside, the street noise just sort of… fades.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to feel like proper apartments rather than just hotel rooms with kitchenettes slapped in. The spaces are genuinely livable – I’m talking real counter space in the kitchen, not those tiny hotel setups where you can barely fit a coffee cup. The beds are actually comfortable too, which honestly isn’t always a given around here, even at four-star places. And the staff – well, they know their stuff about the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to the train station early morning, the guy at reception didn’t just give me the standard taxi line. He walked me through the exact motorbike taxi spot around the corner and even wrote down the fare in Vietnamese so I wouldn’t get the tourist price.
Here’s the thing about the location though – Hàng Bông puts you right where you want to be without being directly ON the main drag where the tour groups cluster. You can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in maybe three minutes, hit up the good pho place on Hàng Trống (locals eat there, always a good sign), and you’re close enough to the cathedral area that you can easily wander over for dinner. The street gets busy during the day with motorbikes – that’s just Hanoi life – but it settles down after about 10 PM, so you can actually sleep. I stayed during Tet season when everything’s amplified, and even then it was manageable.
The only minor thing I’d mention is that the elevator’s a bit slow, and if you’re on a higher floor with heavy luggage, just factor in an extra few minutes. But honestly? For a 4-star place that actually delivers on the apartment experience rather than just calling itself one, and with a 9 rating that feels completely justified, Fusion Links gets it right. You’re paying for the location and the quality, sure, but you’re not getting gouged the way you might at some of the flashier spots closer to the lake. Plus there’s something nice about having your own little setup in the middle of all that Old Quarter energy – you can dive in when you want it, retreat when you need to recharge.

This was our base location in Hanoi. The appartments facilities are great, no complaints what so ever. Location is great, you can walk everywhere to see Old town. There is a busy street in front of the building but that did not bother us at all at night/sleeping. The staff was very helpfull and friendly. If we needed something, booking an extra night, keeping suitcases save, they helped us out immediatly. We took some 2 or 3 day trips to Ninh Binh, Cat ba/Ha long, Sapa and we could always leave our suitcase at the appartment location so we could travel light. It was always nice comming back here and knowing you have all the comfort you need in the appartment in the center of Hanoi.

A beautiful, well designed, studio flat with excellent facilities: Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, a/c. Kettle, iron etc. Location excellent in the Old quarter.. just a few minutes walk from sites such as Train street and the Water Puppet theatre. I was a bit concerned about accessing the apartment through a shop but it was fine and when the shop is ‘closed’ there is a security guard there all night to allow you to come in.
What could be improved: Can’t think of anything!Joanne from United States – 10 April 2025 (10/10)
Large quiet apartment. Extremely comfortable bed with good pillows. Nice enclosed stall shower with lots of hot water, good pressure and a free-flowing drain (shampoo and shower gel provided). Plenty of vanity space around the bathroom sink to set toiletries. Heated toilet seat! Washing machine (detergent provided) that both washes and dries in a 60-minute cycle—amazing!! Lots of seating with a table and chairs as well as a desk. Strong WiFi, lots of electrical outlets to charge devices. Perfect location very close to the Old Quarter but pleasantly quiet without all the hustle and bustle. Very easy walk to many sights, restaurants and shops. Fast communication with the host who was extremely responsive to all WhatsApp messages. Super easy check-in with staff onsite at all times. Can’t say enough good things about this place — our best stay during 6 weeks in Vietnam.
What could be improved: Everything was great. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend this property to other travelers.Sarah from United Kingdom – 10 April 2025 (9/10)
Excellent stay in very conveniently located apartment.

Very nice accommodation. Good location, that let you explore
Hannah from Australia – 3 April 2025 (8/10)
Huge bed and great to have a washing machine in the room
What could be improved: The lift wouldn’t fit both myself and my partner despite being below the weight limit which meant we had to come and go from the room separately which was a bit annoyingLynn from Canada – 21 March 2025 (10/10)
We have returned to this property three times. It’s a lovely apartment in the heart of the Old Quarter. It has a washer/dryer, balcony, kitchen facilities. It’s decorated very nicely. Comfortable, lots of storage and twice the space of a hotel room.
What could be improved: It’s on a busy street in the old quarter. We loved the excitement of being on the balcony and hearing/seeing life go by. Could be loud for some people but with the balcony door closed it wouldn’t be an issue.Ian from Australia – 14 March 2025 (9/10)
Stayed 6 nights. Check-in was easy and efficient. Security guard and shop staff were nice as we came and went. A comfortable alternative to a hotel with plenty of space and a (very) small balcony with no view of the street because it’s obstructed by trees (we hope they keep the trees though). Very quiet. Good location. Comfortable bed and pillows. Aircon worked well. Big TV and we appreciated being able to log into our Netflix account. The big fridge was great for keeping beers and water cold. Washing machine and dryer were handy. Would recommend, especially if staying in Hanoi longer than a couple of nights.
What could be improved: Hot water might not last long enough for some people.
Not having someone on site to deal with problems is a downside. Trying to communicate a simple issue via WhatsApp and being asked to send a video of the problem before they’d send someone was a bit irritating. It was all sorted in the end so it was fine. Maybe we’re just old!
