You know what caught me off guard about Giardini Guest House? The name makes it sound like some quaint little B&B, but this place is actually tucked inside the massive Masteri Water Front complex in Vinhomes Ocean Park – and honestly, that’s not a bad thing at all. I mean, Ocean Park itself is this sprawling new development about 30 minutes east of Hanoi’s center, and while some people might think it feels too “planned community,” there’s something refreshing about the wide streets and modern infrastructure after dealing with Old Quarter traffic.

The location on Đại Dương street is pretty sweet if you’re looking for that new Vietnam vibe rather than traditional Hanoi chaos. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – you’re far enough from the main Hanoi hustle that you can actually sleep with the windows open, but close enough that a Grab to Hoan Kiem Lake doesn’t break the bank. The Masteri complex itself has this resort-like feel with the waterfront views (hence the name, I guess), and there’s decent parking if you’re brave enough to rent a motorbike. The building’s M3 tower is well-maintained – clean elevators, proper lighting in the hallways, none of that sketchy guest house atmosphere you sometimes get.

Inside the rooms, it’s clear someone put thought into the details without going overboard. The beds are actually comfortable (not just Instagram-pretty), and the AC works properly, which… let’s be real, that’s crucial during Hanoi summers. I loved that they managed to keep it feeling homey despite being in such a modern building – there are plants around (living up to that “Giardini” name), and the common areas don’t feel sterile. The staff seems to know their stuff about getting around the area too, which is helpful since Ocean Park can be a bit confusing if you’re not familiar with these newer developments. What surprised me most was how well they’ve balanced that boutique guest house charm with the amenities you get from being in a proper residential complex. You’re getting pool access, decent WiFi, and proximity to the Ocean Park attractions, but without feeling like you’re staying in some corporate hotel. It’s sort of the best of both worlds – especially if you want to experience this side of Hanoi’s rapid development while still having a comfortable, personal place to crash.
