The rooms have this perfect blend of traditional Vietnamese touches and modern comfort that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. Actually, the bed was one of those “I slept like a rock” situations, which if you’ve ever tried to sleep through Hanoi’s symphony of motorbikes and street vendors, you’ll appreciate. They’ve got the sound situation figured out somehow.

What really sold me on the location was walking to Lotte Tower in about fifteen minutes (great for that Instagram shot at sunset, not gonna lie), but also being close enough to the local bánh mì lady who sets up her cart at the corner every morning around 7 AM. The hosts clued me in on that little gem – see, this is the kind of insider knowledge you get when you stay somewhere that’s actually run by locals who care. There’s also this incredible phở spot about three blocks down that I never would have found on my own, and honestly, it was better than anything I had in the tourist areas.

The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no corporate nonsense, just genuine hospitality. They’ve got this small common area where you can actually have a conversation with other travelers without feeling like you’re in a hotel lobby, and the Wi-Fi actually works everywhere (I tested it, because you know how these things go). The bathroom situation deserves a mention too – hot water that stays hot, decent water pressure, and they stock it with proper toiletries, not those tiny packets that last about two uses.

I’ll be real with you though – this isn’t the place if you want a pool or a gym or room service at 2 AM. But if you want to experience Hanoi the way it’s meant to be experienced, with hosts who’ll point you toward the best bánh cuốn in the neighborhood and help you navigate the local bus system without looking like a complete tourist, then this little corner of Hanoi is pretty much perfect. Plus, at four stars with that rating, you’re getting way more value than you’d find at those international chain hotels that charge twice as much for half the personality.

  Dealt with the owner, excellent communication. I asked him to assist with booking at Maison Sen, he arranged everything and followed up on the booking.
  
  Do not be fooled by the alleyway as the accommodation was spotless. The owner explained everything about the homestay, the area, the laundry, etc.
  
  He was respectful (he called us the grandparents), and nothing was too much for him.
  
  The area is just outside the old quarter, which is a godsend as the pollution levels are less.
  
  Will definitely 💯 will be back.

  A lovely spacious appartment. The shower was really warm and even had infrared lamps. It was nice to have a couch and a tv, and a fridge to store our breakfast. It is in a quiet back alley, but once you hit the streets it's in a lovely neighborhood. Good place to wind down after the busy streets of Hanoi.

  Clean!! 2 story apartment with a small lovely balcony to sit. The couch was a big plus for us, big TV and in the bedroom airco. Big fridge, good wifi, friendly host. Would definitely return here.

  The place is so well designed, with an amazing location close to the lake, many coffee shops and restaurants nearby, the host is going above and beyond to make sure we have a comfortable stay.
  
  What could be improved: Very short ally to get to the place is a bit dirty but thats outside of the owner control. The place is designed for longer stay, with all amnesties needed.
