I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address tucked away in ngõ 43 off Trung Kính Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect. You know those narrow alleys in Cau Giay that seem to lead nowhere? Well, this one actually leads somewhere pretty great. The Granda Lake View Hotel & Apartment sits in this quiet pocket that feels worlds away from the motorbike chaos of the main road, which is saying something in Hanoi.

The thing that struck me right away was how the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood inside and out – not just the tourist spots everyone mentions. When I asked about getting to the Old Quarter without dealing with rush hour traffic, the front desk guy (who’d been working there for like three years) mapped out this route through the back streets that locals use. And honestly, that 8.8 rating makes sense once you spend a day here. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, but it’s the little things that add up – like how they actually have decent water pressure (miracle in some Hanoi hotels), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing in your room.

What really won me over was the location’s sweet spot factor. You’re close enough to walk to Lotte Tower if you’re into that sort of thing, but far enough from the tourist madness that you can actually sleep at night. The apartment-style rooms work well if you’re staying more than a few days – I mean, having a proper kitchenette when you want to take a break from pho every meal is pretty clutch. The lake views aren’t exactly dramatic (we’re not talking about Hoan Kiem here), but there’s something nice about looking out at water instead of concrete, especially in the morning with your coffee. One small thing though – if you’re the type who needs to be right in the thick of everything, you’ll want to factor in about 15-20 minutes to get to the heart of the Old Quarter, depending on traffic and your tolerance for crossing Hanoi streets. But honestly? After a few days of temple-hopping and street food adventures, coming back to this quieter corner of Cau Giay felt like finding a little oasis.

  The housekeeping and laundry service was really great. The location is not good, if there is a need to get to the old city every day. But around the apartment, there are nice cafes and a WinMart. So, everything only a one or two minutes to go to buy a lot of food and enjoying a good cup of coffee

  The lady working at the reception is really helpful and accommodating. The lady who did room service for us was really polite and kind. The room was clean, the WiFi speed was satisfactory. All in all it was a comfortable stay for us)

  Big space. Clean room, laundry service, storage for clothing, friendly staff.

  all! even their services.. receptionist are helpful and ready to answer to all of our queries. Complete with utensils, cold AC, everything inside the room is functioning well.. We're satisfied about our experience in Granda Lake.. Thank you so much
  
  What could be improved: the only problem is, they don't have landline phone in their room connecting to the reception area. We still need to go down to 1st floor to talk to the receptionist for our concerns.. But above all everything is very nice..

  room was clean, tidy, smell good, they have free laundry when I stay, the lift is quick and almost empty.

  the area is local, quiet, plenty of eatery, the view from my room is nice.
  
  What could be improved: it's a bit far from downtown, but close to many important business locations in Hanoi.
  The room maybe a bit hot, you should to close all the curtain at noon for the aircon to get cool. however, it's not really an issue.

  The view on the lake is wonderful. No matters when: in the morning or in the evening. It’s beautiful. Bed is comfy. Bedside reading lamp is missing though. The internet connection was stable. Cleaning is daily, laundry is included. The way to decent cafes and coffee-shops takes 5-7 min walk.
  
  What could be improved: The service could be improved. Some people on the reception are very friendly, some – not at all.
  Also, please let the cleaning staff know that it’s highly important to knock before entering the room. Some of them didn’t. As there are no signs ‘please do not disturb’ in your hotel, please, respect the privacy of your guests.
  Anyway, thanks for your hospitality. Mostly it was a pleasant stay.
