Granda Suites Hanoi Overview
You know what struck me first about Granda Suites? It’s tucked away on this quiet stretch of Dich Vong Hau Street where you can actually hear yourself think – which honestly feels like a miracle in Hanoi. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love the chaos of the Old Quarter, but after a day of dodging motorbikes and haggling at Dong Xuan Market, coming back to this peaceful pocket in Cau Giay feels like exhaling for the first time all day.
The thing about this area is that it’s where actual Hanoians live and work. You’ll see office workers grabbing their morning pho at the corner spot (which, by the way, opens at 6 AM and serves some of the best broth I’ve had – way better than the tourist places). The hotel itself has that understated elegance that four-star places here do really well when they’re not trying too hard. The lobby’s got this warm wood thing going on, and the staff actually remembers your name after the second day, which is refreshing. I stayed here during both the sweltering July heat and a surprisingly chilly February, and they’ve got the AC and heating sorted – no fiddling with broken thermostats or paper-thin walls where you hear every conversation from next door.
What really sold me on the place, though, is how it sits right in this sweet spot between convenience and sanity. You’re maybe fifteen minutes by taxi from Hoan Kiem Lake (twenty if traffic’s being particularly Vietnamese that day), but you’re also walking distance from Lotte Tower if you need that Western comfort food fix or want to shop somewhere with actual price tags. The Cau Giay district has this interesting energy – it’s modern Vietnam without feeling sterile, you know? Plus, there’s decent street food right outside the hotel, including this banh mi lady who sets up around 7 PM and makes these incredible sandwiches with pork that’s been marinating all day. The hotel’s restaurant is solid too, but honestly, when you’re in Hanoi, why would you eat inside when there’s so much happening on the streets? That said, their breakfast buffet hits the spot, especially the Vietnamese coffee – they actually know how to make it strong enough. One small thing that bugged me initially was the elevator can be slow during peak hours, but then I realized most guests are out exploring during the day anyway, so it’s really only an issue if you’re rushing to catch an early flight.

Reviews of Granda Suites Hanoi
Jakub from Czech Republic – 18 September 2024 (7/10)
The rooms facing the streets (deluxe) are really nice and bright. On the other hand, rooms facing inwards are rather dark. Comfortable beds and free wifi in every room. Although not very near to the city center, we were pleasantly surprised by the neighborhood. There are many shops, restaurants and cafes and the hotel itself is at a relatively quiet street.
What could be improved: We were asked to switch rooms during our stay, which was not very pleasant.Nguyễn from Vietnam – 28 May 2024 (7/10)

The place was a little less luxurious than what we had booked, and we had to change location because the one we reserved was full (we got there late). But the staff arranged everything and our new appartments were super confortable and clean. It was located right in front of a lake, surrounded by restaurants, and close by a big shopping street (5 minutes walking). The receptionist went out of her way to get us Banh mi sandwiches at the corner deli.
What could be improved: Nothing. It was perfect!Cristine from United States – 17 February 2023 (9/10)
