Hanoi Bliss Pho Hue Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Hoan Kiem, but Hanoi Bliss Pho Hue actually surprised me – and I mean that in the best way. The name’s a bit cheesy, sure, but once you’re inside this narrow building on Phố Huế, you’ll forget all about that. The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the absolute chaos of the main tourist streets. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the lake, but tucked away enough that you won’t have motorbikes honking outside your window at 5 AM (well, not as much anyway).
What really got me was how they’ve managed to squeeze so much comfort into such a typically skinny Hanoi building. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side – this is Vietnam, not some sprawling resort – but everything feels thoughtfully designed. The beds are actually comfortable, which honestly can be hit or miss around here, and the bathrooms have proper hot water pressure. I know that sounds basic, but you’d be amazed how many places mess that up. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too; the front desk guy gave me directions to this incredible bun cha place that wasn’t in any guidebook, just tucked away in an alley off Hang Bac. That’s the kind of local insight you can’t Google.
The breakfast spread is solid – nothing fancy, but they do a mean pho bo that’ll set you up for a day of wandering around the Old Quarter. Speaking of wandering, you’re perfectly positioned here. Dong Xuan Market is maybe a ten-minute walk if you cut through the backstreets, and you can easily stroll to St. Joseph’s Cathedral or grab a coffee at one of those trendy spots on Nha Tho without breaking a sweat. The evening scene is great too – there’s this little bia hoi corner just down the street where locals actually hang out, not just tourists taking Instagram photos. The hotel itself gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which I appreciated after long days exploring.
What really sealed it for me was the rooftop area – nothing glamorous, just a small terrace, but you can see across the old city’s tile roofs and actually catch glimpses of Hoan Kiem Lake in the distance. Perfect spot for a morning coffee or an evening beer. The 8.8 rating makes total sense; it’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what you want in Hanoi – clean, comfortable, well-located, and run by people who actually care about helping you experience the city properly. If you’re looking for a place that feels more like a good local recommendation than a generic booking.com find, this is your spot.

Everything very new and very clean. Beautiful bathroom. Wonderful to have access to a very new washing machine and good clothesline up on the roof but under cover. Good to escape the tourist area but close enough to walk to it quite easily.

This place truly saved us during a very busy trip. We stayed here for a total of four nights, split across different days, using the apartment as a base while exploring areas in Northern Vietnam. It was the perfect solution for our travel style.
The apartment is spotless, very well organized, and honestly feels more like a hotel room than a rental. The value for money is excellent, and for us, the location — just outside the Old Quarter — was actually a plus. In about 15 minutes on foot you reach the heart of the city, but at the same time you’re away from the overwhelming crowds and noise.
We also appreciated the shared washing machine and dryer on the rooftop terrace, which was very convenient for us as backpackers. The self check-in and check-out process was smooth and efficient: definitely a highlight.
If you’re looking for a clean, functional, and comfortable place to stay in Hanoi without giving up convenience, this is a great choice.
What could be improved: The only downside: the stairs are quite steep, and carrying heavy backpacks up and down can be a bit tough.. but really, it’s just a minor note in an otherwise excellent stay.Maarten from Netherlands – 20 April 2025 (9/10)
Clean, spacious, and modern apartment with excellent air conditioning and a great TV. The shower was the best I’ve had in Vietnam. Perfectly located, close to everything, but just outside the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter.

Nice and clean apartment at perfect location close to the city center. Very friendly staff.
Little noise from the street.Joshua from United States – 15 March 2025 (8/10)
The bed is very comfortable. It's one of the best I have encountered in Vietnam. I appreciate the topper cushion layer above the medium firm mattress base layer. It was nice to have more than one pillow per person. The kitchen appliances worked well. The room is spacious and incredibly clean.
What could be improved: We stayed during the Lunar New Year holiday. So many things were closed, it was difficult to find food without walking to the main Historic Old Town tourist area. The host only accepts cash and was not available to greet us upon arrival. Getting payment to them required more coordination than expected and ultimately required us to leave money on the table for them to collect while entering the room while we were site-seeing in the afternoon. The shower runs out of hot water after 5 minutes of use.Hailey from United States – 12 March 2025 (9/10)
