Hanoi Central Hotel & Residences Overview
You know what struck me first about Hanoi Central Hotel & Residences? The lobby actually feels calm despite being right in the thick of Hoan Kiem district. I mean, step outside and you’re immediately hit with that beautiful chaos of motorbikes and street food vendors, but somehow they’ve managed to create this little sanctuary on Hoi Vu street that doesn’t feel stuffy or overly formal.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience real Hanoi without staying in some tourist bubble. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake – and I’m talking about the quieter side where locals do their morning tai chi, not the weekend circus area. There’s this amazing bun cha place literally around the corner that I stumbled across on my second day, plus you can easily walk to the Old Quarter without dealing with taxi drivers who suddenly forget how to speak English when it comes to pricing. The rooms themselves surprised me – they’re more spacious than I expected for central Hanoi, and the soundproofing is actually decent. I was worried about street noise (let’s be honest, Hanoi isn’t exactly quiet), but I could barely hear the morning rush even on the lower floors.
What really sets this place apart though is how the staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood. Not just the obvious tourist spots, but like when I mentioned wanting to find good coffee that wasn’t touristy, the front desk guy drew me a little map to this local spot where I ended up spending most mornings. The concierge also warned me about construction on Trang Tien street that was affecting traffic – small details that show they’re actually paying attention to what’s happening around them. The breakfast spread is solid too, with a nice mix of Vietnamese and Western options, though honestly the pho they make fresh each morning beats most of what you’ll find on the street. I appreciated that they kept it open until 10:30 since, well, Vietnam time is a real thing and sometimes you just don’t make it down by 9 AM. The fitness center is small but functional, and there’s a business center that actually has a decent printer – super helpful when you need to print boarding passes or tickets. One tiny thing that bugged me was the elevator can be slow during peak times, but that’s pretty much my only complaint. For a 4-star place in this part of Hanoi, the value is really solid, especially considering you’re getting that boutique hotel feel without the boutique hotel price tag.

breakfast food is good, room is large and clean, price is competitive, location is excellent and best of all, the staff is friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: Because of other shops and vendors, the street where the hotel becomes narrow during the day which prevents large cars to come to the door for pickup.Daniel from Australia – 10 May 2025 (10/10)
Although this is great value for money, it's the staff from the front desk to the kitchen and house keeping which are awesome they are all fantastic and true professionals, you can see they take pride in what they do. The front desk always greets you with a smile and are a world of information on where to eat what to see and where to go and will organise all your transport needs either it be the airport or ha-long bay they will get you there. The location is great in a back alley away from the noise of a main road but in walking distance of all the attractions and exciting street food. We have all read it before (if could i would rate it more) but truly it deserves an extra 🌟 keep up the great work guy's and girls your my number 1 choice for hanoi, see you again soon.
What could be improved: I have heard some driver's don't like driving down the alley because it's narrow and drop you off before entering the alley and make you walk to the hotel, I haven't experienced this all my drivers dropped me off at the door but if you have to walk it's not far, although this is not the hotels fault and shouldn't take away from their exceptional service.Susan from Ireland – 7 May 2025 (9/10)

Staff are very welcoming and attentive and will arrange excursions for day trips and also taxi to and from Hanoi airport. Highly recommend for location and value.
