You know what hit me first when I walked into Hanoi Home 3? The fact that it actually feels like someone’s carefully curated apartment, not some sterile hotel room with generic art on the walls. It’s tucked away in this narrow lane off Tay Ho street – and I mean really tucked away, so don’t expect your taxi driver to find it on the first try. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. Once you navigate through lane 25 (there’s a little convenience store at the entrance that becomes your landmark), you’re in this surprisingly quiet pocket of Tay Ho that feels worlds away from the motorbike chaos just a few meters away.

The space itself is gorgeous – I’m talking high ceilings, these massive windows that flood everything with natural light, and furniture that looks like it was picked by someone who actually has taste. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights and want to cook with those amazing ingredients from Tay Ho market (about a 10-minute walk, by the way). What really impressed me was the attention to small details – good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually block light, and reliable wifi that doesn’t cut out every time it rains. The air conditioning works like a dream, which you’ll appreciate during Hanoi’s brutal summer months.

Location-wise, you’re in the sweet spot of Tay Ho. Sure, you’re not right on the lake with the weekend crowds and inflated prices, but you can easily walk to West Lake in about 15 minutes when you want that sunset view. More importantly, you’re close to some fantastic local spots that most tourists never find – there’s this incredible pho place two streets over that opens at 6 AM, and the wet market nearby has the best fresh herbs I’ve encountered in Vietnam. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll see families on their stoops in the evenings and hear the occasional call of street vendors, but it’s never overwhelming. I actually slept better here than at some of the fancier hotels in the Old Quarter because you don’t get the constant honking and late-night bar noise. Getting around is easy enough – Grab drivers know the main Tay Ho street, and from there it’s just a matter of walking into the lane. The host was responsive when I had questions, and check-in was smooth even though I arrived later than planned. If I’m being completely honest, the only minor thing is that the lane can feel a bit dark at night, but that’s pretty standard for Hanoi’s residential areas. For the price point and that 9.7 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises – a genuinely comfortable base in one of Hanoi’s most livable neighborhoods.

  The apartment is modern, clean, has a free washing machine and dryer (this is convenient for the hotel, the hotel costs money to rent laundry)
  easy check in, enough kitchen utensils to cook.

  The room has 24/24h accessibility, sufficient facilities, comfy couch, good light and quiet neighborhood. Security man is friendly and helpful. Good location and we feel safe inside the property. Excellent.
  
  What could be improved: The bed was smelling like bleach, specially the pillows. It kind of affects the comfort of the stay. The alley is a bit small, car can't get in but I don't mind.

  The location.
  The security guard did not speak English but was very nice and we managed to understand each other.
  
  What could be improved: The place was super dirty. The kitchen plates had old food, the kettle had old beans in it (the water smelled so bad!), there were hairs on the tub, there was a plastic cap floating inside the water fountain for guests.
  
  The owner said I could pay by card but the guard at the reception did not know how to operate the machine.

  What could be improved: Hôm mình đến thì không có dầu gội, sữa tắm, dép đi trong nhà. Sau đó đã được bổ sung và được giải thích là do chị lao công chính bận và có người khác làm thay nên chưa thạo việc. Nên bổ sung thêm khăn tắm.
