You know what surprised me about Hanoi Home 8? It’s tucked away in this narrow alley off Xuân Diệu street, and honestly, I almost walked past it twice looking for number 21B in that maze of ngõ 111. But once you find it – and you will, eventually – you realize why this place has such crazy good ratings.

The “open view” part isn’t just marketing speak, either. I mean, when you’re up there looking out over Tây Hồ district, you actually get this sweeping view that makes you forget you’re in the middle of one of Asia’s busiest cities. The apartment itself feels genuinely luxurious without being stuffy about it. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need – there’s proper water pressure in the shower (trust me, this matters in Hanoi), the AC works without sounding like a helicopter, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you’d actually use. I spent a morning making Vietnamese coffee on their balcony, watching the motorbike chaos below, and it felt more authentic than any hotel breakfast room.

What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the neighborhood. Xuân Diệu street is where a lot of expats and locals hang out, so you’re not stuck in some tourist bubble. There’s this little bún chả place about a three-minute walk away that doesn’t even have a proper sign – just follow the plastic stools and the smell of grilled pork. The West Lake is literally right there too, which means early morning or sunset walks when the city finally takes a breath. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re renting a scooter (the alley’s narrow), but there’s always somewhere to squeeze in, and the neighbors seem pretty used to visitors figuring it out. The only thing that might throw you off is how quiet it gets at night – I mean, you’re still in Hanoi, so there’s always some distant honking, but tucked back in that alley, it’s surprisingly peaceful. Actually, that 9.5 rating makes sense when you add it all up. It’s not trying to be a fancy hotel; it’s just a really well-thought-out place to stay that happens to nail all the details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days.

  Great location for the lake. Not much to look at outside but once you're in it is spacious and well appointed. The apartment is furnished in a modern style and has everything you need. The Aircon is efficient which is really important. There are some really good restaurants within a few minutes walk. We'd highly recommend and for 2 adult couples it was really well priced. The host was also very helpful and responded to our needs within minutes

  Great appartment, spacious, cozy. There was an opportunity to cook, we asked for additional dishes and they quickly gave it to us. Cleaning was 2 times a week. The location is very good: there are many cafes and restaurants, massage nearby. If you need to go to the city, it took 15 minutes by bus or taxi. There are no complaints.

  The house has 2 open sides, bright, airy, cool rooms, nice balcony, good view.
  The apartment is modernly designed, reasonably arranged, with a large sofa, very comfortable sitting and lying down. The room is fully furnished with modern and useful furniture.

  The apartment is very close to the central area of Tay Ho, where there are many cafes, restaurants, and eateries.

  The building is very easy to access from the airport, convenient transportation connections.
  New building, has 2 open sides (one street side and one side lane), lots of natural light and natural wind, good view, parking space for cars and motorbikes.
  The apartment has all necessary facilities, has a dishwasher, especially a beautiful bathtub, large and soft sofa, reasonable design and layout. The room is clean, the housekeeping is also very attentive.
  This place is quite quiet, especially you can walk to the flower valley and West Lake. Jogging around West Lake is an enjoyable experience. Drinking coffee at the nearby flower valley will be great.
  Friendly host, good communication, welcoming guests.
  Worth the money
  Will definitely book this room if given the chance.
