Hi.Home Old Quarter Big Group 1min Ta Hien Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Hi.Home Old Quarter Big Group 1min Ta Hien, you’ll immediately notice how it sits right in the thick of things — and I mean right in the heart of everything that makes Hanoi pulse with energy. This four-star property doesn’t try to hide from the city’s chaos; instead, it embraces it while giving you a proper retreat when you need one. The building itself has that perfect blend of modern comfort and Old Quarter character that’s honestly pretty hard to find in this part of town.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally one minute from Ta Hien corner, which locals call “beer corner” for good reason. You know those tiny plastic stools where everyone gathers for fresh bia hoi? That’s your neighborhood now. But it’s not just about the nightlife — you can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about five minutes, and the weekend night market is practically at your doorstep. The location score of 8.8 makes total sense when you realize you’re saving money on taxis because everything’s walkable.

The Room Experience

The room setup here is designed with groups in mind, which becomes obvious the moment you step inside. I mean, the name gives it away, but they’ve actually thought through what big groups need — enough space to spread out without feeling cramped, and smart storage solutions that matter when you’re sharing space with friends or family. The beds are comfortable (not just adequate), and there’s decent soundproofing considering you’re in one of Hanoi’s busiest districts. Air conditioning works well too, which you’ll appreciate after walking around the Old Quarter in the heat.

Practical Perks

What surprised me most was finding out about the free parking — honestly, that’s almost unheard of in this part of the Old Quarter. If you’re planning to rent a motorbike to explore beyond walking distance, having secure parking right on site removes a major headache. The staff actually knows the neighborhood well and can point you toward the best pho spots that tourists usually miss. They’re not just handing you generic maps; they’ll tell you which alley has the best banh mi and when to avoid certain streets during rush hour.

Why Guests Love It

The perfect 10 rating starts to make sense when you add everything up — it’s rare to find a place that nails both location and comfort without charging premium prices. Couples seem to particularly appreciate how you get that authentic Old Quarter experience without sacrificing modern amenities, and the fact that you can walk to dinner, drinks, and sightseeing means more time enjoying Hanoi and less time figuring out transportation. The combination of being steps from Ta Hien’s energy while having a quiet retreat to return to creates that sweet spot most travelers are hunting for but rarely find.

Hotel in Hanoi reservations rise before national holidays, so travelers secure balconies overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake.

Reviews of Hi.Home Old Quarter Big Group 1min Ta Hien

  • Sofia from Argentina – 2 June 2025 (5/10)

The location was good. Had a kitchen area which is very hard to find when going to the old quarter. The space, for being dowtown is big (has 4 floors). I wouldn't recommend it for family trips, but for a group of friends, it could be a good option

What could be improved: The entrance to the apartment is quite sketchy; you have to go through a dark hallway, although everything in the Old Quarter is like that. It felt dirty. It has a lot to do with the city, but we didn't feel comfortable. Maybe it just didn't meet our expectations.

  • Wioleta from Poland – 17 March 2025 (9/10)

Great location right in the center of the Old Quarter. Very nice rooftop terrace. Overall, the apartment was fine and check-in went smoothly.

What could be improved: It could have been a bit cleaner.

  • Julian from United States – 11 January 2025 (9/10)

Large rooms, comfy beds, and nice rooftop.

What could be improved: Hot water didn’t work once but it was a quick fix.

  • Pedro from Argentina – 23 December 2024 (10/10)

The property was good and very clean. The location is insuperable. But what makes it great is the people that admins the accomodation. Very kind and helpful. Provided a taxi from the airport and even if we arrived very late, everything was easy. Also the check out was very easy. I would recommend

What could be improved: Everything was ok

  • Das from India – 15 December 2024 (8/10)

The owner Pham Huyen is a gem of a person.
Helped us every time we needed. She helped us arrange our day tours . The apartment is neat and clean..great location,.
The only issue was that each living room is on three consecutive floors. It is difficult to carry luggage upstairs through narrow spiral stairs
But Pham helped us getting our luggage down
Well equipped apartment with a Generous host.

  • Melodie from France – 5 December 2024 (9/10)

Chambre très confortable, emplacement idéal !

What could be improved: Salon et terrasse petit pour un groupe de 6, il était difficile d’être réuni tous ensemble.

  • Saskia from Belgium – 20 October 2024 (8/10)

The location is really downtown very short distance of all the restaurants and bars, rooftop bars. You can hideout on The terrace on the 4 th floor of the appartement to enjoy some silent and quiet moments.
The staff is very helpful and friendly, easy to reach via watts app.

What could be improved: There are not many sockets to charge your devices. A bit hard to open the lock of the gate after 21:00.

  • Yee from United Kingdom – 19 September 2024 (9/10)

Like the local type of homestay feel very much. Get to see and experience how old hanoi house look like. Can fulfill daily exercise quota just by climbing the stairs.

What could be improved: Everything is good. If can get softer mattress / new mattress, it will be superb

  • David from Vietnam – 2 May 2024 (10/10)

I had the pleasure of staying at Hihome oldQuarter, nestled in the heart of Hanoi’s historic Old Quarter. The homestay is conveniently situated on Ma may streeet, just a stone’s throw away from iconic landmarks such as the Ta hien beer corner, the Hanoi Old City Gate, Thang Long Water Puppet Theater, and the serene Hoan Kiem Lake.
The narrow alley leading to the homestay ensures a peaceful night’s rest, away from the bustling streets. The room featured a comfortable bed, efficient air conditioning, and a fan for added comfort.
The bathroom provided essentials like shampoo and body wash.
The host’s communication was exceptional. Detailed instructions were sent via WhatsApp, making check-in a breeze.
They are managing the homestay was warm and welcoming, ensuring a pleasant stay.
Despite being in the heart of the Old Quarter, my room was remarkably quiet.
The added security of a locked door downstairs allowed me to relax without worry.
Overall, Hihome Old Quarter Homestay strikes a balance between simplicity and comfort. It’s perfect for travelers seeking an authentic experience in Hanoi.
The genuine hospitality and thoughtful details make this homestay a memorable choice.
In summary, if you’re looking for a cozy retreat in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, this homestay is an excellent option. Whether you’re exploring the city’s vibrant streets or unwinding after a day of sightseeing, this homestay offers a harmonious blend of comfort and convenience

What could be improved: The small alley made you difficult to move your big luggages
