I stayed here last month when I needed a break from the chaos of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and it turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for.

The location on Hải Âu 8A is actually pretty smart if you think about it. You’re in this newer development area that feels worlds away from the motorbike madness downtown, but there’s literally a bus stop maybe two minutes’ walk away that connects you to everything. The Vinhomes Ocean Park location means you’re surrounded by these planned green spaces – and I’m talking actual trees and quiet mornings, not just a few potted plants. I spent my first morning just sitting by the window with coffee, watching people do tai chi in the courtyard below. The bathtub they mention? It’s legit huge, and after walking around Hanoi all day, soaking in there while looking out at the greenery was honestly therapeutic. The apartment itself feels like someone’s well-designed home rather than a sterile hotel room – there’s this lived-in warmth to the place, probably because it’s spacious enough that you’re not tripping over your suitcase every five minutes.

What really sold me on this place was how it handles the classic Hanoi travel dilemma. You want to be close enough to the Old Quarter for the food and culture, but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night without street noise. The 30-minute drive they mention is pretty accurate – though honestly, I found the bus system more reliable than dealing with traffic if you’re not in a rush. The owner clearly knows their stuff about what travelers actually need. There’s proper Wi-Fi (I worked from there a couple days), a real kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the local market, and – this is key – good water pressure in the shower. Small things, but they matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I were bringing family or needed space to spread out. It’s got that sweet spot of feeling local and residential while still having the comfort level that makes a 4-star rating make sense. The 9/10 rating seems about right too – I can’t think of anything seriously wrong with the place, just that the name desperately needs work.

  Nous devions y passer deux jours, nous sommes restées 5 jours. Très bel appartement, bien équipé. Tout le confort est là. Netflix, cuisine équipée, lave linge, baignoire (à noter: pour prendre un bain il faut finir de le remplir à la bouilloire, pas assez d'eau chaude)
  Bien situé, à 10min à pied d'un centre commercial, supermarché. Bus pour aller dans le centre d'Hanoi à 5-10min à pied. Vinbus entre les quartiers vincomes gratuit.
  
  Seul bémol il faut demander plusieurs fois pour que le ménage soit fait. Il y a un panier à linge dans le couloir pour y mettre les serviettes usagées et celles ci doivent être changées ( très bonne idée de base) mais ça n'est jamais le cas, il faut descendre au restaurant pour qu'elles soient changées.
  Il y a eu une coupure d'eau un jour à 19h (nous ne pouvions pas nous laver ni cuisiner), nous avons donc alerté le restaurant qui gère la location. Après une heure d'attente, je redescends pour demander si le problème a été réglé. La personne était en train de rire avec ses collègues et avait oublié de regarder. Nous avons donc attendu 2h. Lorsque le problème était réglé, personne ne nous a averti (nous avions laissé les robinets ouvert et l'avons su comme ça) .
  
  La piscine notée dans l'annonce est en fait dans un autre quartier et coûte autour de 7 euros par personne.
  
  En clair très bel endroit mais un axe d'amélioration sur la réactivité et le service.

  What could be improved: The fact it was so difficult to find, couldn’t find with postcode n taxi driver had no idea.
  the lack of response from the host when this was our first time in Vietnam. It was extremely stressful trying to solve everything. You must message the host via a different platform regarding your checking as they had no idea I was arriving late after sending my message with over 1 day and 18 hours for them to have seen. Since arriving late we had no cash and was told we couldn’t pay by card. This was difficult as I hadn’t got a sim yet and walked over 20 minutes to an atm. To them get a grab back and find myself 45 minutes away from the property, with the other address provided. I was told the reason I couldn’t pay card was due to me being far away, I thought that the property I had ended up at I could pay at but this was not the case. Was ignored for over 4 and half hours. After returning to the property I was staying at, the guy over seeing the property FaceTimed the people who had ignored me and they answered straight away.
  It felt like a stressful situation to be in , even though the hosts did attempt to resolve things the last night. But by this point it had already ruined what would have been a stress free stay.
