HoLo Central Hanoi – Serviced HomeStay Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard “serviced homestay,” I wasn’t sure what to expect from HoLo Central Hanoi. But walking into this place on Bùi Thị Xuân Street, you immediately get why it’s earned such a stellar reputation. It’s sort of like if someone took the best parts of staying at a friend’s apartment and combined it with actual hotel service that doesn’t make you feel guilty for asking for extra towels.
The location is what really got me though. You’re right in Hai Bà Trưng district, which honestly feels more authentically Hanoi than some of the touristy spots – you know what I mean? There’s this great bánh mì place literally around the corner that locals actually go to (not one of those Instagram traps), and you can walk to Hoàn Kiếm Lake in about fifteen minutes if you don’t mind weaving through the motorbike ballet that is Hanoi traffic. The building itself sits on a quieter section of the street, so you’re not dealing with constant horn honking, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, the night market buzz is just far enough away that you can actually sleep.
What makes this place special is how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between independence and support. The rooms feel like actual apartments – proper kitchenettes with real cookware (not those sad hotel hot plates), washing machines that actually work, and living spaces where you can spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. But then the service kicks in when you need it. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out Hanoi, not just pushing tours or restaurant kickbacks. They’ll tell you which xe ôm drivers to trust and which streets flood during heavy rain season – stuff you’d only know from living here. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that hovering-over-your-shoulder thing some places do.
The whole setup works especially well if you’re staying more than a couple nights or traveling with people who need their own space. I watched families actually relax here instead of tiptoeing around each other in a cramped hotel room. And honestly, after a few days of navigating Hanoi’s sensory overload – the incredible street food smells mixing with motorbike exhaust, the constant friendly chaos of the markets – coming back to a space that feels like a real home base makes all the difference. The 4-star rating feels accurate without being stuffy, and that 9-point rating from other travelers? Yeah, I get it. It’s one of those places where they’ve figured out what people actually want (reliable WiFi, genuine local advice, space to breathe) instead of what they think looks impressive in photos.

Great stay! Super comfortable, good size, nice hosts and spotless.
What could be improved: Honestly nothing to dislike. It's probably one of the nicest places I've stayed in Vietnam.Evgeny from United Kingdom – 22 May 2025 (8/10)
Very clean, quiet and has everything for a short stay. The bed is wide and comfortable. Loved it.
Hannah from Australia – 15 May 2025 (8/10)
Located a small walk away from the old quarter but still such a quiet location away from the madness. Had a smart TV to log into Netflix and secure building.
What could be improved: NothingTristan from United Kingdom – 11 May 2025 (9/10)
Excellent clean, large & comfortable room.
What could be improved: We had to leave early in the morning and it was quite difficult to figure out how to get out of the property as the exit is via a shop which had locked metal shutters (we had to find and wake up a security guard in the end).Kennedy from United States – 21 April 2025 (8/10)
Great location and super nice flat
Cindy from Canada – 8 April 2025 (8/10)
Very clean, perfect air conditioning, a lot of hot water. A lot of space and storage. Quiet location, which was really nice. We thought it would be closer to old quarter, but it was a 20-25 min walk. And it was outside of all the pickup areas offered by tours, so keep that in mind. On a more “negative” side, the staff was 100% non existent. Never once in 4 days did we see them (we did get a room clean on the third day though). But there is no reception and if you want recommendations on places to go, to eat or if you want help to book activities, well you’re on your own a little. Seeing as Hanoi is such a central hub and booking things is rather easy from here, it didn’t bother us too much, but still, to keep in mind. Lastly, everything was super clean, shower too, but there was quite a bit of mold on one side of the shower.

The infrastructure is very complete, there is a small balcony and the room is relatively clean. The landlord is very patient and considerate. Special thanks.
What could be improved: There is nothing much to improve.Micael from Spain – 8 March 2025 (8/10)
Best value of our trip. Nice little place to use as a base in a quieter area but full of coffee shops. For us, better than staying in the old quarter. We liked walking. Staff super easy to communicate with through WhatsApp and easy self check in
What could be improved: Honestly can't think of anythingMonica from France – 1 March 2025 (8/10)
Very clean good location very confortable bed and nice staff
Jack from United Kingdom – 20 February 2025 (8/10)
Exceptionally clean and well presented, Shower was AMAZING, bed super comfy and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets, check in and out was very simple and greeted by friendly staff!
What could be improved: Location means about a 20 minute walk to old quarter but it is a pleasant enough walk, no biggie!
