Hotel Du Palace Overview
You know what surprised me most about Hotel Du Palace? It’s tucked right into the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter on Hàng Bông Street, but somehow they’ve managed to create this little oasis of calm amid all the beautiful chaos outside. I mean, you step through those doors and suddenly the motorbike symphony fades to a gentle hum – though honestly, I kind of missed it after a while because that’s just Hanoi’s heartbeat, you know?
The location is actually perfect if you want to dive deep into the real Hanoi experience. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, which becomes this incredible social hub every evening when locals come out for their evening strolls and weekend festivities. And here’s something most tourists don’t realize – Hàng Bông Street itself is fascinating because it’s part of the old guild system where each street specialized in different crafts. You’ll still see some of that traditional commerce mixed in with the newer cafes and shops. The staff at Du Palace seem to really get this too; they’re not just polite, they actually know their neighborhood and will point you toward the good pho place three blocks down (not the touristy one everyone talks about) or tell you which days the weekend night market is worth your time.
What really won me over was how they’ve balanced that authentic Vietnamese hospitality with genuine comfort. The rooms feel thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated – good lighting for actually reading, proper shower pressure (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in this part of the world), and beds that don’t leave you counting springs. The breakfast situation is solid too, though I’d recommend getting there early because it gets busy around 8:30 when the tour groups start moving. Actually, that’s probably my only real complaint – the lobby can feel a bit crowded during peak check-in times, but it’s more lively than annoying. Plus, the rooftop area gives you these glimpses of lake views between the buildings, and it’s where I ended up spending most evenings with a beer, watching the controlled chaos of the streets below. The whole experience just feels… authentic, I guess? Like they’re not trying too hard to be something they’re not, which is refreshing when you’ve stayed in too many places that feel like they could be anywhere in the world.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel du Palace Hanoi for 7 days, and I can confidently say it was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was both elegant and welcoming.
The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with tastefully decorated rooms that blend traditional charm with modern comfort. The location is perfect—just a short walk from many of Hanoi’s key attractions, yet tucked away enough to feel like a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle.
What truly made my stay memorable, however, was the incredible staff. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr. Ha and Ms. Daily, who went above and beyond to make sure I felt at home. Mr. Ha was always available with helpful suggestions for exploring the city and made sure every aspect of my stay ran smoothly. Ms. Daily was equally attentive—always smiling, professional, and quick to assist with any request, no matter how small.
Thanks to their kindness and dedication, I felt genuinely cared for throughout my stay. It’s rare to find such personalized service, and it made all the difference.
I highly recommend Hotel du Palace Hanoi to anyone visiting the city, whether for business or leisure. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip to Vietnam!Lily from United Kingdom – 4 June 2025 (10/10)
It’s a super nice hotel and very comfortable beds. The location is great and the staff are so lovely, especially Mr. HA & Ms. Daily. I was a little sick and they kept checking I was okay when they saw me. Really loved staying here and would definitely recommend & stay again!

Our recent stay at Hotel du Palais was nothing short of extraordinary, and a significant part of that memorable experience was thanks to the outstanding service provided by Mr. Tommy. From the moment we arrived until the day we checked out, Mr. Tommy went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. His professionalism, warmth, and genuine care truly set the tone for our entire stay.
Mr. Tommy greeted us with a friendly smile and a warm welcome, immediately making us feel at home. He provided us with excellent recommendations on local attractions, dining spots, and transport options, all tailored perfectly to our interests. What impressed us most was his consistent attentiveness — always checking in to ensure we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive.
The hotel itself is equally impressive. Hotel du Palais offers a perfect blend of elegance and comfort. The rooms are impeccably clean, stylishly designed, and well-equipped with all the modern amenities. The location is superb — peaceful yet conveniently close to key attractions. Every corner of the hotel reflects care and attention to detail, and the overall ambiance is warm and welcoming.
The rest of the staff were also incredibly kind and professional, contributing to the overall excellent hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. However, Mr. Tommy’s service stood out for his personal touch and dedication to making our visit truly special.
We wholeheartedly recommend Hotel du Palais to anyone visiting the area, and we especially encourage guests to seek out Mr. Tommy for assistance — his service will surely enhance your stay.
Thank you again, Mr. Tommy and the entire Hotel du Palais team. We look forward to staying with you again in the future.Jardine from United Kingdom – 30 May 2025 (10/10)

Super location right in the heart of the Old Quarter. The bed and pillows were amazing and my sleep was the best I'd had in months on the road. The staff however is what made my stay extra special. Ms. Daily was amazingly supportive in terms of booking activities and transportation and Mr. Ha had great restaurant recommendations and was super kind each time walking thru the door.
