You’ll find yourself lingering over breakfast longer than planned, partly because the Vietnamese coffee is ridiculously good, partly because the morning light hits the dining area just right.

Now, the 7.4 rating tells you this isn’t the Four Seasons – and honestly, that’s kind of the point. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though the walls aren’t exactly soundproof (you might hear your neighbor’s early morning phone call to home). But here’s what matters: the location puts you within walking distance of the Old Quarter’s maze of streets without being right in the tourist chaos. You can duck into Phố Cổ for dinner and street food adventures, then retreat back to a quieter stretch of Hồng Hà when you need to decompress. The staff – well, let’s just say they know which pho place opens earliest and which one stays open latest, and they’re not shy about sharing recommendations that’ll make your Instagram followers seriously jealous. Pro tip: ask about the motorbike rental situation if you’re feeling brave enough to navigate Hanoi traffic. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about K6 that makes it perfect for travelers who want authentic Hanoi vibes without paying premium prices for manufactured “authentic experiences.”

  The quirky room was cool, had kitchen facilities as well as Netflix in the room.
  
  What could be improved: The location was difficult to walk to the old town as you had to cross a busy main road. Taxis to centre were hard to get and expensive. Room was also very damp leaving our belongings feeling wet. Also a cash only home stay which is not ideal with no atms close by.

  Located just stones throw from the Opera and the Hoan Kiem lake, K6 Homestay is a cozy little hotel that offers well designed and comfortable rooms. I stayed in the Chinese room and couldn’t be happier. The staff is super pleasant and helpful, I really enjoyed the stay and would definitely come back!
  
  What could be improved: Would be awesome if there was a café in the premises but since there is one right next to the hotel and many other options for food and drinks, it’s really not an issue at all.
