La Passion Premium Cau Go Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of boutique hotels in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and La Passion Premium Cau Go honestly surprised me in the best way. You know how sometimes a place just gets it right from the moment you walk in? That’s this hotel. The location on Cau Go street is actually perfect – you’re literally steps away from Hoan Kiem Lake (I mean, you can see it from some rooms), but here’s the thing most people don’t realize: you’re positioned just far enough from the main tourist chaos on Hang Bac that you can actually sleep at night. I was worried about motorbike noise since, well, it’s Hanoi, but the street is surprisingly quiet after 10 PM.
The staff here – and I’m not just saying this – they actually remember your name and preferences. The front desk guy, Minh, knew I preferred my coffee strong by day three and would have it ready when I came down for breakfast. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. Mine had this gorgeous dark wood furniture that felt authentically Vietnamese, not like some generic Asian-inspired knockoff you see everywhere. The bathroom was spacious (rare for Old Quarter hotels, trust me), and honestly, the shower pressure was better than my apartment back home. Small detail that matters: they give you actual hangers, not those useless attached ones that drive you crazy when you’re trying to hang up a dress shirt.
What really sets this place apart though is how they handle the details. The rooftop area gives you those postcard views of the lake and the old French colonial buildings – perfect for evening drinks or morning coffee. But here’s what I loved: they don’t blast music or try to turn it into some party scene. It’s actually peaceful up there. The breakfast spread is solid too, mixing Vietnamese classics with Western options, and they make a mean pho if you want to start your day properly. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works exactly as it should. You’ll pay a bit more than some of the smaller guesthouses in the area, but honestly? After dealing with paper-thin walls and lukewarm showers at other places, the extra cost is worth it for a good night’s sleep and a hot shower. Plus, you’re a five-minute walk from Ngoc Son Temple and all the weekend night market action, but you can retreat to actual quiet when you need it.

This hotel was beautiful and the breakfast selections were incredible. Staff friendly and professional.

Fantastic staff that went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable trip. Will be staying here again when I come back.

The room is beautiful and the bath and shower are luxurious! Absolutely worth it!
What could be improved: Breakfast was dreadful. You can only chose a few options, there's no buffet which is a strange concept too. I'd rather have a mediocre buffet than a mediocre a la carte breakfast.Uyen from Vietnam – 23 May 2025 (10/10)
We had an incredible stay at the lake view room. Aside from the charming space and tasteful decor, amenities are great, the bed is super comfortable and all exceeded expectations. What was most notable for us, however, was the service and hospitality. Every single person we came across were exemplary, truly going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Will be back here my next time in Hanoi.

Silvia and the other lady that worked from late afternoon were very helpful and professional. Helped me set up a car pick up from hotel to airport as well as packed us some breakfast to go. Fantastic staff and the room was beautiful and clean.

Hotel is super nice and equally the staff too. They took care of us from the point we checked in to when we left. Too bad o could only stay one night but I highly recommend. It’s a better value for money.

Don’t miss out on this hotel – it exceeded all my expectations!
From the moment I arrived, everything about my stay felt luxurious and thoughtfully curated. The rooms were elegant and comfortable, the staff incredibly welcoming, and the service was truly exceptional.
A special shoutout to Emma – I was pleasantly surprised to see her again after previously writing a glowing review about her at La Passion Hotel and Spa. Seeing a familiar face at check-in added a personal touch that made me feel right at home.
Even when the road was closed over the weekend and our transport couldn’t reach the hotel entrance, the bellboy went above and beyond by carrying our luggage and helping us connect with our driver.
This place honestly felt like a world-class hotel, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi.Ezgi from Turkey – 4 May 2025 (9/10)
Excellent hotel and staff
What could be improved: We liked all.
just one improvement suggestion is to have remote control for air conditioner.Bartosz from Poland – 29 April 2025 (10/10)
Emma, the receptionist, deserves special recognition as she is nice and helpful
