Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to La Sinfonía del Rey – the entrance on Hang Dau is pretty understated, and you know how Old Quarter hotels can be hit or miss. But man, this place surprised me in the best way. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about the design here. It’s not trying too hard to be boutique-fancy, but it’s definitely a step up from your typical Hanoi hotel. The lobby has this warm, almost residential feel – think elegant Vietnamese home rather than sterile hotel chain.

What really sold me on this place was the location, and I mean the real practical stuff that matters when you’re actually staying somewhere. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, which sounds touristy but honestly becomes your daily rhythm when you’re there – morning coffee walks, evening people-watching, the whole thing. More importantly though, you’re right in the thick of the Old Quarter without being on one of those motorbike-crazy streets that’ll keep you up all night. Hang Dau is busy enough to feel alive but not so insane that you can’t actually sleep. And here’s something most people don’t mention – there’s a great little coffee place (locals call it “the corner spot”) literally across the street where you can grab proper Vietnamese coffee for like 20,000 dong instead of paying hotel prices.

The rooms themselves are… well, they’re actually spacious, which is rare around here. I mean, we’re not talking palace-sized, but you can open your suitcase without having to move the chair, you know? The spa part isn’t just a marketing gimmick either – I was skeptical, but they do solid traditional Vietnamese massage, and the therapists actually know what they’re doing. The whole place just feels like they get the balance right between comfort and not treating you like you’re completely clueless about Vietnam. Staff speaks excellent English but doesn’t assume you need everything explained, and check-in was refreshingly quick – none of that “let me tell you about every restaurant in Hanoi” spiel some places do. With a 9.4 rating, you’d expect it to be one of those perfect-but-soulless places, but it actually has personality. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you want to be in the Old Quarter but still get decent sleep and maybe treat yourself to a massage after walking around Hanoi all day.

  The location next to the lake and old French quarter means that you can walk to some of the major tourist attractions easily. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean.

  I was genuinely impressed by the breakfast at La Sinfonia. The dishes were thoughtfully prepared, flavorful, and offered a great variety. What made the experience even more special was the beautiful setting — a serene and scenic view that made for the perfect start to the day. Attentive service and friendly staff added a warm touch to an already memorable morning.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing major – just note that the hotel is located in the Old Quarter, so access by car can be a bit tricky. However, the staff is extremely helpful and always ready to escort guests to the nearest pickup point, which is a big plus

  The rooms were big and clean. The staff were really friendly and breakfast was great (some buffet options and some freshly made to order options.

  Beuatiful varied breakfast – bottles of fresh juice combinations – amazing views from retaurant and bar over the lake. Elegant hotel, very warm and helpful staff, lovely comfy beds and good quality sheets.
