You know what struck me first about Sunny Days? It’s tucked right into this perfectly chaotic stretch of Khâm Thiên Street where you’ve got street vendors selling bánh mì at 6 AM next to tiny cafes that somehow fit eight plastic stools on a sidewalk. I mean, this isn’t some sanitized hotel district – you’re actually in a proper Vietnamese neighborhood, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re trying to get a feel for Hanoi.

The building itself is taller than most of the surrounding shophouses, so you get these surprisingly decent views from the upper floors – not Instagram-worthy or anything, but you can actually see over the maze of narrow streets and catch glimpses of daily life happening on rooftops. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, though I’d say they lean more toward the apartment side of things with little kitchenettes that are actually useful if you want to grab some fruit from the market down the street. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in Hanoi summers), and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like some places I’ve stayed. Staff speaks decent English, which helps when you’re trying to figure out the best time to avoid the motorbike rush on Khâm Thiên – and trust me, there’s definitely a rhythm to this street that you’ll want to learn.

What I really appreciated was how walkable everything is from here. You’re maybe fifteen minutes on foot to Hoàn Kiếm Lake if you cut through the backstreets, and there’s this excellent bún chả place about three blocks south that locals actually eat at (not just tourists). The Đống Đa district vibe is more residential than the Old Quarter chaos, so you get proper sleep at night without sacrificing access to the good stuff. Parking is tight if you’re thinking about renting a motorbike – there’s space but it fills up fast. The 8.2 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be fancy, just reliable and well-located. I’d definitely book again, especially if I wanted to stay somewhere that feels connected to actual Hanoi life rather than floating in some hotel bubble.

  The unit is spacious and comfortable. The location is close to one of the train streets, but otherwise it’s a very local area. Walking distance to the train station where you can catch a bus to the airport. The unit is quiet and has a nice view of the city.
  
  What could be improved: The location on google maps (if you just type in the name) is incorrect, so use the address on booking.com. There is no sign on the front of the building so it’s a bit hard to notice. The bathroom also had some mold but not a huge deal.

  Clean & Spacious
  Did not see a single ant or cockroach during my stay.
  I wouldn't mind staying here again now that I know what to expect…
  
  What could be improved: Room lock was a fail and it took 2 days of communication to get it (sort of) fixed.
  
  Had to buy additional stuff during my stay to make the room safer and pleasant to stay – floor mats, toilet paper, trash bags, kitchen wet napkins to clean up an oily kitchen. Was only given one toilet roll and a set Towels for my 11 nite stay.
  
  Wouldn't recommend using the burnt frying pan for your own health and they didn't provide a Spatula either.
  
  No cleaning equipment, like broom or mop for me to do self cleaning.
  
  Attendant below can't speak English and while not rude, he wasn't very courteous either… Google translate will be your friend here.
  
  Note that the Attendant will do an inspection of the room before you leave…add that extra time if you are making your way to the Airport or booking a Grab Ride…
