The entrance is tucked away in this quiet residential area that feels worlds apart from the chaos of central Hanoi, which is exactly what you want after a day of dodging motorbikes and street vendors.

The thing about this place is that it gets the fundamentals right without trying too hard to impress. My room was spotless (I mean, really spotless – you could tell they take housekeeping seriously), and the AC worked perfectly, which honestly matters more than fancy marble lobbies when you’re dealing with Hanoi’s humidity. The staff genuinely seemed to care about helping out – not in that overly rehearsed way you get at some hotels, but more like your neighbor giving directions. They helped me figure out the best route to avoid traffic getting to the Old Quarter, which saved me probably an hour each day. The breakfast spread was simple but done well – proper Vietnamese coffee, fresh pho, and they even had decent Western options if you’re not ready to dive into local food first thing in the morning.

What really won me over was the location, though it might not be obvious at first glance. Sure, you’re not walking distance from Hoan Kiem Lake, but you’re in this authentic neighborhood where actual Hanoians live and work. There’s a brilliant little com binh dan place literally two minutes away where I had some of the best home-style Vietnamese food of my trip – the kind of spot you’d never find if you stayed in the tourist zones. The Hoang Mai district has this lived-in feel that’s getting harder to find in central Hanoi, and you’re still only about 15 minutes by taxi to the main sights (traffic permitting, of course). Parking was never an issue, which is basically a miracle in this city. The 8.9 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what you need at a price that won’t make you wince when you check your bank account.

  What could be improved: No funcionaba el agua caliente. La chica subió a comprobarlo una vez hicimos el check out, vió que no iba y lo único que hizo fue pedirnos disculpas. Pero nos fuimos sin ducharnos después de un largo viaje el día anterior.

  Хороший, чистенький отель. На первом этаже есть окно, но оно в стену, поэтому нет понимания светового дня: день сейчас или ночь. Но остановиться на пару дней отличный вариант. Приятно спать на чистенькой кровати, все банные принадлежности дают, рядом много магазинов и кофейня. Персонал очень вежливый и честный: я забыла ноутбук в отеле, – мне в течение 5-ти минут позвонили и сказали об этом. Я вернулась и благополучно забрала. Большая благодарность этому отелю!❤️
  Nice, clean hotel. There is a window on the ground floor, but it is in the wall, so there is no understanding of daylight: it is day or night. But staying for a couple of days is a great option. It's nice to sleep on a clean bed, all bath accessories are provided, there are many shops and a coffee shop nearby. The staff is very polite and honest: I forgot my laptop at the hotel – I got a call within 5 minutes and was told about it. I came back and took it safely. Many thanks to this hotel!❤
