Lavis Serviced Apartment Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first turned down that narrow alley at 275 Âu Cơ, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Lavis Serviced Apartment. You know how it is with these tucked-away places in Tay Ho, they’re either hidden gems or… well, not. But walking into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about what travelers need. The space feels more like a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a sterile hotel – which, I mean, makes sense given the name. The staff genuinely seemed to care about getting you settled, not just processing your check-in. And honestly, that 9.3 rating starts making sense pretty quickly when you realize how many little details they’ve gotten right.
What really struck me about this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. Tay Ho’s got this interesting mix of expat families and Vietnamese locals, and Lavis feels like it belongs to both worlds. You’re close enough to the lake that you can actually walk there without breaking a sweat – maybe ten minutes if you’re taking your time and stopping to look at the street food stalls along Âu Cơ. The apartments themselves are spacious in a way that’s rare for Hanoi, with actual kitchens you’d want to use (I ended up cooking breakfast a couple mornings with ingredients from the local market). The beds are properly comfortable, and – this might sound silly but it matters – the wifi actually works throughout the entire space, not just in one corner of the room. The soundproofing is decent too, though you’ll still hear the occasional motorbike symphony that’s just part of Hanoi’s charm.
What sets Lavis apart, though, is that it feels like they understand longer stays without making short-term guests feel like an afterthought. There’s a washing machine that you can actually figure out how to use, enough electrical outlets in logical places, and proper lighting for reading. The neighborhood itself comes alive in the evenings – there’s this little cluster of restaurants about two blocks away that serves some of the best bún chả I had in the city, and the staff at Lavis knew exactly which one I was talking about when I asked for directions. You’re far enough from the Old Quarter chaos to actually sleep at night, but close enough that a taxi there doesn’t cost a fortune. I mean, if you’re looking for that tourist bubble experience, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Hanoi rather than just visiting it, while still having a comfortable base that works properly, Lavis hits that sweet spot pretty perfectly.

Location was 5 minutes from anything, clean and comfy
What could be improved: Tell your guests that it is part of moonlit suites – I was walking around for ages to find it. My mate paid for a late check out which he realised he didn’t need in the end and he didn’t get a full refundSapir from Israel – 21 December 2024 (10/10)

The apartment is super clean and comfortable, it is super equipped, with two air conditioners, cutlery, microwave, kitchen, etc. It looks like it is new, it was a bit difficult for us to get there at first but the manager was very kind and helped me find it, I only stayed one night but I would have loved to stay longer since the quality-price ratio is quite high.
What could be improved: Everything was great!Hiếu from Vietnam – 8 November 2024 (10/10)
