It’s tucked right into Hang Gai Street – and I mean right in the heart of the Old Quarter madness – but somehow they’ve managed to create this little bubble of calm that actually works. I was honestly skeptical when I first walked up because the street is pure chaos (in the best way), with motorbikes weaving around tourists and vendors selling silk scarves every three feet. But the moment you step through their doors, it’s like someone hit a mute button on Hanoi.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, which means you can stumble out for morning tai chi with the locals or grab those incredible bánh mì from the cart that parks near the bridge around 7 AM. The staff seemed to really get that most guests want to explore – they don’t hover, but they’re there when you need them, and honestly their English is better than at most places I’ve stayed in this price range. The rooms have this sort of understated elegance thing going on… not trying too hard to be fancy, but the details are right. Good water pressure (crucial in the Old Quarter), air conditioning that actually keeps up with Hanoi’s humidity, and windows thick enough that you can sleep through the morning motorbike symphony if you want to.

What really sold me on this place was the spa situation. Look, I’m usually skeptical of hotel spas – they tend to be overpriced and underwhelming – but theirs is legit. After a day of getting lost in the narrow alleys (which you will do, trust me), having a proper massage option right in your hotel is clutch. The whole vibe feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s place than some corporate hotel chain. They know which street food vendors to avoid, when the night market gets too crowded, and – this was clutch – how to get a decent taxi to the airport without getting ripped off. That 9.2 rating isn’t just numbers; you can feel it in how smoothly everything runs without feeling stuffy or overly formal about it.

  Everything about the property was great. The staff were fabulous during our stay and Carter was great at answering all my questions beforehand. The information about our airport transfer was clear. The transfer itself was quick and easy. The room was comfortable, breakfast was great and of course the roof top bar didn’t disappoint. The location in the old quarter was just perfect.

  A beautiful hotel, very comfortable clean rooms. The staff couldn’t have been any more helpful they made it a very pleasant stay
  
  What could be improved: When I ate my dinner in the restaurant I was the only person in there. I had scallop pasta and it was a pretty small portion with very few scallops but was delicious even so.
