I mean, you’re still in Tay Ho – you can hear the distant hum of traffic from the main road – but suddenly everything feels more intimate, more residential. The building itself sits tucked away in Ngõ 50, and honestly, I almost missed it the first time because it blends so naturally with the neighborhood’s rhythm.

The apartment-style setup here is actually brilliant for this area. Most hotels in Tay Ho try to cram you into tiny rooms, but these folks get it – they’ve created spaces that feel like you’re staying in a local’s well-appointed flat rather than just another hotel room. The interiors have this clean, modern Vietnamese aesthetic without being sterile, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase (revolutionary concept, right?). What really sold me was stepping out onto the balcony in the morning – you get these glimpses of West Lake through the trees, and the whole neighborhood is just waking up. Kids heading to school, vendors setting up their carts, that gentle chaos that makes Hanoi so addictive. The soundproofing is surprisingly good too, which matters because Vietnamese mornings start early and enthusiastically.

Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Tay Ho – you’re close enough to all the expat cafes and international restaurants along Đặng Thai Mai, but you’re also genuinely embedded in a local neighborhood. There’s a fantastic phở place literally around the corner that I stumbled onto by accident (no English menu, but just point and smile), and the convenience store two blocks down stocks everything from craft beer to decent coffee beans. The staff at Oikia clearly know the area well – they gave me directions to places I hadn’t even asked about, like which entrance to use for West Lake park during morning exercise hours. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no unnecessary ceremony, just genuine helpfulness. I’d definitely come back, especially if I was planning a longer stay in Hanoi – it’s the kind of place where you can settle in and actually live a bit, rather than just sleep between tourist activities.

  I had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. Its location near West Lake offers fresh air, peace, and a relaxing atmosphere. The room was clean, modern, and had a lovely view. The staff were extremely friendly and always ready to help whenever needed. There are plenty of great local eateries around – perfect for exploring Hanoi’s food scene. It’s also super convenient to get to the Old Quarter, just a short ride away from all the buzz and excitement. A wonderful place to stay, and definitely my top choice for future visits!

  A lovely apartment — very bright and fairly clean. In the evening, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sunset over the lake from the window. During the day, it can be a bit noisy because of the market below, but by 10 PM it becomes very quiet. There are nice and affordable cafes with tasty food about 15 minutes away from the apartment. The apartment has everything you need. During our week-long stay, the host offered cleaning twice.
  
  We accidentally left some documents in the apartment when we checked out, but the host was very helpful and arranged for them to be picked up and delivered to our friends. Many thanks to her!

  The place is so comfortable you feel like your home. Decoration is very warm. The owner she offer to do laundry for me do not take fee, so nice. And the location is just next to the west lake so perfect for a morning walk. İf you like to go the the old quarter in city center or the train street it cost only about 2-3$ if you call a grab car. So definitely recommend it to stay. Me and my wife liked it very much.
