Then boom, there’s this sleek boutique property that somehow manages to feel both modern and respectful of the Old Quarter’s character. The entrance isn’t flashy, which I actually loved – it’s like discovering a well-kept secret rather than being hit over the head with luxury branding.

What really sold me on this place was how the staff seemed genuinely happy to see guests, not just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth (they had my room ready at noon, which never happens), and the woman at reception actually drew me a little map showing the best pho spot nearby – not the tourist traps on the main drag, but this tiny place locals hit up for breakfast. The spa is legit too, though honestly, book ahead because word’s gotten out. I tried their signature massage after a long day wandering around the Temple of Literature, and it was exactly what my feet needed. The treatment rooms are tucked away from any street noise, which is saying something in this part of Hanoi.

Here’s the thing about staying in the Old Quarter – you’re either going to love the energy or it’s going to drive you crazy. This hotel strikes that perfect balance where you can dive into all the madness (the weekend night market is literally a five-minute walk), but when you need to decompress, you’ve got this calm oasis waiting. The rooms aren’t huge – this is Vietnam, not Vegas – but they’re thoughtfully designed with these beautiful wooden accents and actually functional lighting for reading. Pro tip: if you’re a light sleeper, mention it when booking because some rooms face the alley where motorbikes occasionally rumble through early morning. But honestly, even those weren’t too bad compared to what you’d deal with on the main tourist streets. The 9.7 rating makes total sense to me – it’s one of those places that just gets the details right without trying too hard to impress you.

  The hotel is new, only 1 year old, and everything is very nicely decorated. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Lots of thoughtful touches too like welcome fruit in the room. The hotel is in a great location, lots of cafes and restaurants nearby and short walk to the lake. The breakfast was great – buffet style with lots of choice. The staff were also very friendly and always happy to help.

  We stayed at this lovely small hotel when we arrived on Hanoi and luckily were able to stay at the end of our Vietnamese trip as well. Leo and the entire staff are wonderfully warm and professional. The location was perfect for exploring the Old Town and yet because the food and ambiance at the rooftop restaurant was so good we spent our evenings at the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and room appointments were lovely. This was a wonderful find that we highly recommend.

  Amazing hotel at the heart of the old centre (most touristic part of Hanoi). The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, definitely the highlight of the experience. Everything was super clean and tidy. On top of that, as the hotel was built recently, everything is still shiny and well-designed. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Large variety and small portions, which allows one to try many different things without spoiling a ton of food, which is awesome! The location is insane. There are many great restaurants, souvenir shops, coffee shops all within a few minutes walk from the hotel. It's also only a 1-2 minutes walk to the Ho Hoam Kien lake.

  This is my second stay at this property. I chose it again based on my previous positive experience. I loved the staff, the location, and the rooms. The daily breakfast is excellent, and the rooftop bar has views of the lake and live music at night. Leo is the manager, and he is a real gentleman. I plan on returning for business later in the year, and again, I will stay at this property. It's that good! PS- Nancy, the concierge, booked us a tour to Halong Bay on Stellar Cruisers, and she is fantastic. She handled everything making it a perfect experience.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing. The hotel, the staff, and the location exceeded all expectations.
