Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from LUCK APART 8 when I first pulled up to that stretch of Âu Cơ Road in Tây Hồ – it’s one of those addresses that sounds impressive but you never know until you’re actually there. The thing is, this spot really delivers on the Westlake promise. You’re literally right there with the water views, and I mean properly there, not some distant glimpse between buildings like you get with a lot of places claiming lake proximity.

The studio itself is compact but thoughtfully laid out – whoever designed this actually understood how people live in small spaces. The balcony is honestly the star of the show, especially in the early morning when you can watch the lake wake up with that soft mist rolling off the water. I spent way more time out there than I planned, coffee in hand, watching the occasional cyclist cruise by on the lakeside path below. The Nhật Tân area has this quieter vibe compared to the chaos of Old Quarter, but you’re not completely cut off from everything either. There’s decent street food within walking distance, though you’ll want to venture a bit further for the really good stuff – the bún chả place about ten minutes toward the bridge is worth the walk.

What I appreciated most was how functional everything felt. The kitchen setup actually works if you want to cook (rare for these kinds of places), and the wifi held up even during those afternoon storms when half of Hanoi’s internet seems to give up. The building itself is newer, so you don’t get that charming-but-annoying old Hanoi apartment experience with paper-thin walls and mysterious plumbing sounds. Check-in was straightforward, though like most places in this area, having the exact address and building number ready helps since the street numbering can be… creative. Parking isn’t terrible if you’re on a motorbike, but I’d think twice about bringing a car – the streets around here weren’t really designed for that. The 7.9 rating feels about right; it’s solid and reliable without being flashy, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to actually experience a city rather than just Instagram it.

  We always go to this place when we come to school for the semester test and I’ve been enjoying the hotel and personnel for about four years already all good as usual!

  Room was fairly clean, beds were comfortable. Bathroom was great, it had shower and bathtub. You could adjust water pressure and temperature easily. There was also kitchen with fridge and stove, terrace and balcony which had nice view. AC worked well and TV was good.
  
  What could be improved: It was hard to find entrance and we had to enter through the garage our entire stay. Man who welcomed us spoke non English, and although he seemed polite, he demanded that we pay immediately upon arrival which is usually not practice. We didn't have cash so we had to go and find ATM which turned out to be slight problem since majority of ATM's declined our cards. We stayed there for 3 nights, no one ever came to clean or provide fresh water. Doors of the bathroom closet were broken and towels were smelly. Location was 6 km from center, and wi-fi speed and strength was not always on the point. I would recommend for short stay since airport is not far away, but I don't recommend booking for longer period of time.

  Closeness to a nearby event was very comfortable. Easy to reach by public transport. Everything you need in the apartment. Supermarkets, restaurants and cafes near by. Recommendable!

  The place is clean and comfortable.
  
  Its very close walking to several restaurants, cafes and a shopping center.
  
  It is also close walking to a nice park with a large lake.
  
  What could be improved: Check in is a bit complicated and communication with the host is not very good.

  The apartment was clean, equipped with almost everything we needed. The bed was super comfortable. The water pressure in shower was perfect (probably the best we had in Vietnam so far). There are a lot of restaurants and cafes in the area, the Lotte mart is in 10 min walk distance.
  The owner provided detailed instructions on how to check in, so we had no problems whatsoever. If we had questions the owner would reply almost immediately which was very helpful. Can definitely recommend this place!
  
  What could be improved: There was just one mug in the kitchen, so we had to share one coffee during our breakfast. Would be nice if you could provide at least two.

  What could be improved: Somtimes there was no one around when you need something. For example, I was locked out in the balcony for more than an hour accidently before I could get help from the staff. It wasn't easy to contact them

  I booked this whole studio apartment for a week as I needed to get some work done during the afternoons. It was a really great choice, with a little desk, big fridge, new microwave, kitchen area, and a big comfy bed. It was always wonderfully quiet inside. It’s just a short walk to get to some nice bars, restaurants and the West Lake.
  
  What could be improved: There is no room service included so you will need to clean up after yourself.
