Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Hoan Kiem, but Lucy Homee apartment honestly surprised me in the best way. You know that stretch of Hang Bai Street where it gets really narrow and you’re thinking “there’s no way anything decent is tucked back here”? Well, that’s exactly where you’ll find this gem at 43B. I mean, the location is actually perfect once you figure out the maze of tiny alleys – you’re literally a three-minute walk from the lake, but somehow you’ve escaped all that motorbike chaos that never stops around the main tourist drag.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish Vietnamese cousin decided to rent out their place, not some corporate hotel chain trying to be trendy. Walking in, there’s this immediate sense of calm that hits you – maybe it’s the way the morning light filters through those big windows, or how they’ve managed to blend modern touches with subtle local elements without making it feel like a museum. The 9.8 rating makes total sense once you settle in for a night or two. Everything just works, you know? The AC doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, the shower actually has proper water pressure (trust me, this matters in old Hanoi buildings), and the bed is that perfect firmness where you sleep like a rock but don’t wake up feeling like you got hit by a xe om.

What really got me though was how the hosts seem to understand what travelers actually need. There’s a proper kitchen setup if you want to grab some pho ingredients from the morning market on Hang Be – which, by the way, is right around the corner and infinitely better than the touristy spots near the lake. The neighborhood comes alive around 6 AM with all the street food vendors setting up, and honestly, waking up to those sounds and smells is half the Hanoi experience. Evenings are surprisingly quiet for being so central; I guess the narrow streets keep most of the traffic noise at bay. The only thing I’d mention is that finding the exact entrance can be a bit tricky your first time – Vietnamese address numbering is sort of an art form – but once you’ve done it once, you’ll feel like a local navigating those little passageways. This place gets booked up pretty quickly during peak season, and after staying here, I totally understand why people keep coming back.

  This stay was perfect! There was 3 of us (1 couple, 1 single) and having the split levels helped create a separation in space but also made it feel like a cute little sleepover. The place was so modern and clean, it was so nice to come back at the end of the day to a space that felt like a home. The communication with the hosts was great, I was even lucky enough to be able to check in early 🙂
  
  What could be improved: Slightly out of the main section, but we didn't mind as it was quieter and got our steps in.

  Accommodation très charmante avec une superbe localisation. Les hôtes sont très réactifs et toujours disponibles. Bon rapport qualité prix pour une localisation à deux pas du vieux quartier d'Hanoi.

  Lucy Homee is an absolute gem! Located right in the heart of Hanoi’s vibrant Old Quarter, it offers the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and cultural charm. The space is beautifully designed, keeping a touch of Hanoi’s traditional elegance. The homestay is peaceful, despite being so close to all the action, and the lush greenery surrounding the place adds a sense of calm.
  
  Vivian/ Tran and Quan are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to offer local tips and recommendations. The free walking tour is a fantastic way to explore Hanoi like a local.

  Không có gì để chê. Chỗ ở rộng rãi thoải mái, gần phố cổ, sạch sẽ yên tĩnh và tiện nghi. Mình đi gia đình mà ai cũng thích. Mọi người hỗ trợ rất nhiệt tình. Lần sau nhất định ghé lại.

  This apartment has great location, cozy room, comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen. Especially it has one robot to clean apartment. How impressive!
