Luxe Paradise Residence 88 Tu Hoa Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Luxe Paradise Residence 88 Tu Hoa? The name makes it sound way fancier than it actually is – and I mean that in the best possible way. This place sits tucked away in one of those narrow Hanoi alleys (ngõ 88 off Tu Hoa street, specifically) where you’d never find it unless someone told you exactly where to look. It’s in Tay Ho district, which honestly is perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in a real Vietnamese neighborhood instead of tourist central. The morning sounds here are incredible – motorbikes puttering by, vendors calling out their wares, that whole authentic Hanoi symphony that somehow becomes oddly soothing after a day or two.
The hotel itself feels more like staying at your well-off Vietnamese friend’s family place than a typical hotel. Four stars seems about right – it’s definitely comfortable and clean, but don’t expect marble lobbies or doormen in uniforms. What you do get is this surprisingly personal service where the staff actually remembers your name and asks how your day went. The rooms are solid, nothing revolutionary, but the air conditioning works (crucial in Hanoi summers), and the beds are actually comfortable, which… well, you can’t always count on that in this price range. I particularly loved how quiet it gets at night despite being right in the neighborhood – something about the way these old Hanoi alleys are laid out just naturally buffers the sound.
Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk to the main Tay Ho area where all the expat cafes and weekend markets happen, but close enough to hop on a xe om (motorbike taxi) to the Old Quarter in maybe twenty minutes depending on traffic. There’s this little local café right at the end of the alley that does the most incredible bánh mì – I’m talking the kind where the bread is still warm and crispy, not the tourist version. The 7.8 rating actually feels pretty honest to me; it’s not going to blow your mind, but there’s something genuinely comfortable about the place. I stayed there during shoulder season in October and had zero complaints, though I imagine it might feel a bit cramped if you’re there during peak tourist months when every place in Hanoi is packed. The Wi-Fi worked reliably (always a gamble in these smaller places), and they helped arrange a motorbike rental without any of the usual runaround. If you’re the type who likes discovering a neighborhood instead of just staying in it, this spot gives you that authentic Tay Ho residential vibe while keeping you close enough to everything that matters.

This is perfect for people who knows the country and know how to maneuver around the city. Not something that fits a tourist, especially romantic trip
What could be improved: Cleaning staff only do basic work. Sink was not clean and washing machine was not checked before we showed up. However, this is small matter for us. We contact the staff and get it sorted out quickly.Ikki from Japan – 7 July 2023 (8/10)

Very friendly staff and great location. Very clean and tidy.
What could be improved: Could do with cups or mugs for hot beverages and a cork screw for opening a bottle of wine.Matthew from United Kingdom – 22 May 2023 (8/10)
Location is in a quiet Alley in the Tay Ho area of Ha Noi close to bars and restaurants, the property is a service apartment in an older building that has been fully refurbished to modern standards. Ten minute walk to bars restaurants and shops, 15min grab bike to the old quarter. Front gate is password controlled and the building manager very friendly, if you speak a a little Vietnamese will be helpful but it doesn't matter as he is willing to help out in any way that he can! Apartment is clean and bathroom is fantastic complete with deep bath. Good air conditioning units in full working order, functional kitchen and large living room space, washing machine in the second bathroom should you need it.
What could be improved: Nothing really to say here, the bed clothes could maybe be a bit brighter and more inviting (brown and yellow not great colours) but on the whole the bed was comfortable and a little less rigid than most in Asia.Aisling from Ireland – 10 April 2023 (9/10)
Really nice apartment. Great location! The beds are super comfortable.
Lovely place to stay, we will be back 😊
