Check-in was smooth when I was there, though I’d imagine things get a bit hectic during peak season around Tet.

What really works about this place is the practical stuff that matters when you’re actually staying somewhere. The suites are genuinely spacious by Hanoi standards – you can actually open your suitcase without rearranging the entire room. The bathrooms are properly modern (thank god, because some of the “charming” places in the Old Quarter can be… well, let’s just say the plumbing dates back to the French colonial era). The air conditioning works well, which you’ll appreciate during those sticky summer months when Hanoi feels like a sauna. I was there in September and honestly, stepping into that cool room after wandering around the humid streets all day felt amazing. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been sleeping on a board – always a win in my book. You’re also close enough to everything that matters: Dong Xuan Market is maybe a ten-minute walk, the weekend night market happens practically on your doorstep, and you can easily walk to the French Quarter when you want slightly wider streets and fewer motorbikes. The staff seems to know their stuff about getting around the city, which is helpful because navigating the Old Quarter can be genuinely confusing even with Google Maps.

Here’s the thing – it’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Hanoi, and that’s exactly why it works. The 8.5 rating makes sense because it delivers on what it promises without the pretense. You get a comfortable, well-located base to explore from without paying resort prices or dealing with the tourist circus of some of the bigger international chains. If you want to feel like you’re actually in Hanoi rather than in some generic hotel bubble, this is a pretty smart choice.

  The staff were receptive. Lan and Huy tried to help with every request and were accommodating. The rooms is very large and good value for money given the price / location. Could use some refurbishment but still given the price it is great value for money

  Huy was very helpful and they provided a laundry service. Reception is upon 24/7 which was great as we arrived late at night. The hotel is well located a short walk from everywhere we needed to go.
