Luxe Paradise Suites Hotel To Ngoc Van Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of places in Hanoi, and Luxe Paradise Suites on To Ngoc Van surprised me in the best way possible. When I first pulled up to 17b (it’s tucked into one of those narrow alleys off the main drag), I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect – the entrance is pretty understated, which I actually loved after dealing with some of the flashier tourist traps downtown.
The thing about this spot is that it sits right in Tay Ho, and if you know Hanoi at all, you know that’s where the expats and locals who’ve figured things out tend to hang. You’re literally a five-minute walk from West Lake, which means morning jogs with a view if that’s your thing, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by some genuinely good coffee shops and restaurants that haven’t been completely overrun yet. The staff here gets that – they’ll point you toward places like Summit Lounge or Tranquil Books & Coffee instead of the obvious tourist spots, which tells you they actually care about your experience rather than just checking boxes.
What really won me over was the attention to detail that you don’t always get at four-star places. The suites (and they really are suites, not just rooms with a couch shoved in) have these huge windows that let in amazing natural light, and honestly, the beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in Southeast Asia. The housekeeping team clearly takes pride in their work – I mean, they even fold your clothes if you leave them out, which seems small but makes such a difference when you’re living out of a suitcase. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet at night, especially compared to the Old Quarter chaos, so you’ll actually sleep well. I was worried about street noise since Vietnamese cities can be… energetic, but the double-glazed windows do their job.
One thing I really appreciated – and this might sound weird – is that the front desk staff doesn’t hover or oversell everything. They’re there when you need them, they know their stuff about getting around the city (including honest advice about taxi vs. Grab vs. motorbike depending on where you’re going), but they’re not constantly trying to book you tours or experiences. The 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience that kind of genuine hospitality. Plus, if you’re planning to explore beyond Hanoi, they actually helped me figure out logistics for a Ha Long Bay trip that didn’t involve the typical tourist cattle-car experience.
The only minor thing I’d mention is that the elevator is a bit slow – not a big deal unless you’re in a rush, but worth noting if you’re on one of the higher floors with heavy luggage. Also, while the location is fantastic for experiencing local Hanoi life, you will need to grab a taxi or Grab to get to the main historical sites, though honestly, that 10-minute ride gives you a nice preview of the city as you head in.
Bottom line: if you want to stay somewhere that feels like you’ve discovered something rather than just booked a room, and you prefer being part of a neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble, this place delivers. It’s polished without being sterile, local without being inconvenient.

Me and my family stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and wanted to stay more, but had some changes of our plans…but! I want to say that it’s the best place we stayed in Vietnam so far. If we come back to Hanoi, we’ll definitely choose only this apartment!
Rooms are large, everything is clean, staff is amazing! OMG they are literally the kindest and understanding people! I was amazed by service and the price was reasonable.

The colonial-style decor of the room was very pleasant, and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, which was greatly appreciated after a long day in the city. The location is perfect, close to Hue’s nightlife street with plenty of restaurants and cafés. Special mention goes to our host Hièn for her outstanding attention and help—definitely the best part of the homestay. She gave us many recommendations and even helped us arrange a driver to take us to our next destination, Hoi An, always attentive to our needs.
What could be improved: There is no elevator, which wasn’t a problem for us. In any case, they offer to carry your luggage upstairs.Tuong from Australia – 8 April 2025 (10/10)
Location was superb in Tay Ho. Opposite a beautiful little park. We stayed in a very new two bdr apartment, which was cleaned every 3 days.

The area is great and quiet.
The whole room is big enough for 4 people to stay comfortably.
You got everything you need in the room.
Washing and drying machines are working great.
The staff is super friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: The toilet and the cutlery were dirty when we checked in for the first day.
But the staff solved the problems right away after we talked to her.Anupa from India – 1 February 2025 (10/10)

We did upgrade our room to two bedroom and it was amazing, so we came back again week after. Everything is new and nice, the area is the best in Hanoi for my opinion as it’s quiet and not far from central.
What could be improved: Construction was terribly noisy at 6am, also crazy neighbors in this hotel were screaming all night, but staff reacted quickly and was very helpful.Patrick from Ireland – 29 January 2025 (9/10)
I was pleasantly greeted by Yen at reception, she was very kind and helpful and went out of her way to accommodate me .
