Minasi Premium Hotel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Minasi Premium Hotel on Nguyen Truong To Street, I wasn’t expecting much. The street itself is sort of tucked away in Ba Dinh district, not exactly where you’d think to look for a solid hotel. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly why this place works so well.
The location is actually pretty brilliant once you get your bearings. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (though honestly, who needs to be closer to that tourist madness), and the real gem is how close you are to the quieter side of Hanoi’s government district. I mean, it sounds boring, but it’s not – there’s this whole network of local coffee shops and family-run restaurants that you’d never find if you stayed in the Old Quarter with everyone else. The morning I spent wandering around with my terrible Vietnamese, trying to order proper pho from a place two blocks over… well, let’s just say the hotel staff gave me much better directions than Google Maps ever could.
What really surprised me about the Minasi was how they managed to feel upscale without being stuffy. The lobby has this modern Vietnamese aesthetic – dark wood, clean lines, but not cold or corporate. Check-in was smooth, no weird deposit drama, and the front desk guy actually knew the neighborhood well enough to recommend a bánh mì spot that wasn’t in any guidebook. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place – good beds, reliable AC (crucial in Hanoi’s humidity), and bathrooms that actually have decent water pressure. Nothing revolutionary, but everything works, which honestly is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed.
The noise situation is worth mentioning because Ba Dinh isn’t exactly silent – you’ll hear some traffic, especially during rush hour, but it’s manageable and way better than staying right in the Old Quarter where motorbikes start honking at 5 AM. I actually found the gentle hum of the city kind of soothing after a few nights. What I really appreciated was how the hotel handled the little things – they had proper international outlets, the WiFi didn’t cut out every five minutes, and room service actually arrived when they said it would. The breakfast spread was decent too, with both Vietnamese and Western options, though honestly, you should skip it and explore the street food scene instead.
Here’s the thing about the Minasi – it’s not going to blow your mind or end up in your Instagram stories, but it’s exactly the kind of place that makes a trip work smoothly. You’re close enough to the major sights without being in the middle of the tourist chaos, the staff genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out Hanoi, and you can actually get a good night’s sleep. For a 4-star hotel in this part of the city, that 8.9 rating makes total sense. It’s the kind of place I’d book again without hesitation, especially if I wanted to experience Hanoi more like a temporary resident than just another tourist rushing between attractions.

We had a wonderful time at the Minasi hotel. The location was perfect, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were absolutely lovely. We were checked in and welcomed by Joyce, who was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the stay, offering us recommendations for food and things to visit that were not so touristy. She even left us a lovely surprise note to wish us a good rest of our trip in Vietnam. Thank you Joyce, we are really grateful for your kindness and hospitality! 🙂

Everything was great from the beginning. From the way Joyce received us at the start till the very end. They were exceptionally sweet, kind and helpful. All of them, the receptionist, the bell boy, the restaurant manager and the final see off receptionist.
