I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Luxe Paradise Suites on Tây Hồ, I wasn’t expecting much from the narrow street entrance. But you know what? Sometimes the best places in Hanoi hide behind unassuming facades, and this turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that make you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Tây Hồ at all. You’re literally a three-minute walk from the lake – I mean the real lakefront, not just glimpses through buildings – and there’s this little coffee spot around the corner that locals frequent where you can grab proper Vietnamese coffee before the tourists wake up. The street itself (Đường Tây Hồ) gets a bit busy during rush hour, but honestly, the rooms are well-insulated so you’re not dealing with motorbike noise at 6 AM like some places in the Old Quarter. What really sold me was the rooftop situation – they’ve got this terrace area where you can actually see the lake, and in the evenings when the humidity drops, it’s genuinely lovely up there.

The suites themselves are larger than what you’d typically find in central Hanoi, which is refreshing when you’ve been cramped in tiny hotel rooms for weeks. The bathrooms have those rainfall showers that actually work (you’d be surprised how often they don’t), and the air conditioning is properly powerful – crucial during those sticky summer months. Staff-wise, they’re helpful without being overly formal, and the front desk team knows the neighborhood well enough to give you actual directions instead of just pointing vaguely down the street. I stayed during what turned out to be a particularly busy weekend – some local festival I hadn’t heard about – and they managed to keep things running smoothly despite being fully booked. The breakfast spread isn’t huge, but they do a decent pho and the coffee is strong enough to wake the dead.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to feel upscale without being pretentious about it. The common areas have this relaxed vibe where you can work on your laptop without feeling like you’re disturbing some carefully curated atmosphere. And parking – if you’re brave enough to rent a motorbike in Hanoi – is actually available, which is rarer than you’d think in this part of town. The whole area comes alive in the evening with locals exercising around the lake and street food vendors setting up, so you’re getting that authentic Hanoi experience without sacrificing comfort when you want to retreat to your room. For the price point and that 8.9 rating, it makes sense – they’re doing the fundamentals really well without trying to be something they’re not.

  The apartment was spacious, modern and comfortable and the staff was very very helpful. Special thanks to Hai Anh who showed us the apartments before we booked them and helped us with our still drying laundry when we were checking out. Great service overall! The location is also great. Many nice bars and restaurants in this calm neighbourhood within short distance of the busy city old town.
  
  What could be improved: Some of the facilities in the room were not very well cleaned. There was some dust here and there. But it wasn't that bad.

  This is a fantastic location if you want to be in Tay Ho with a family. We used the washing machine and enjoyed having two bedrooms and separate living space to relax. The apartment was very comfortable for us, it could just use a more thorough cleaning as it was dusty underneath and behind things.

  Best appartment we had in Hanoi. So spacious, clean, and well equiped. It hit for us a 10+ score, family with kids (5 to 15), with good bars, retaurants and nearby the lake, in a part of town that is much quieter and more "airy" in feel than the bustling and dense old quarter, with modern local style & upper class vibe too.
